This time, it's Hornet baseball getting in on the act, with a 5-3 win over Texas today.

Soph pitcher Brennan Leitao scattered six hits over seven innings, only giving up two runs in the big win. Sixty of his 84 pitches were strikes. The Longhorn hurler was lifted after 3.2 innings. Freshman Sutter McLaughlin earned the save in his first collegiate appearance.

The Hornets did their major work in the third, scoring three runs on four hits and a Texas error.

This game served as revenge for Texas' Opening Day win yesterday. The Hornets close out the Texas series tomorrow at 11 PT. RHP Zach Morgan gets the start for Sac.

I certainly believe we can take the series, no surprise from me. Must be a rush playing in front of 5,700 opposing fans.

Looks like baseball is once again the spring sport for me to follow. Coach C really has the program headed in the right direction.
