The Big Sky road race to the tourney

Going to be an amazing and exciting last two weeks of the Big Sky basketball season.

4 teams in contention for the Big Sky regular season crown and the right to host the Big Sky tourney where the winner will go to the Big Dance.

First up is this coming Thursday.

Best of luck to

Montana State at EWU
Idaho hosting Montana
and
North Dakota hosting NAU

May the Bobcats, Vandals and North Dakota all win and help out the Hornets in the race to the finish.

You never know , it could happen

And may the Hornets have an amazing week of practice and head to Portland ready to give everything they have to continue this amazing season. Time to break more records by winning more and more Big Sky road games.

We just need to win our games and nothing else will matter. We hold the tie breaker over Montana, and depending on how the EWU-UM games goes could also end up holding the tie breaker over EWU. It all comes down to 3 tough road games. :|

If Montana beats EWU, then loses to Idaho, followed by us going at least 2-1 in our final three, we are guarenteed the honor of hosting because worst we could do is a three way tie with EWU and UM. We'd be 1-1 vs. EWU, but 1-0 vs. UM, whereas EWU would be 1-1 against them. I think 14-4 will get us there....

The Spokesman-Review in Spokane posted an article yesterday saying the same thing Kadeezy writes, in that, if Sac State wins out, they hold the tie-breakers over everyone else and would host the playoffs.

The paper also mentioned that Sac State is now in Joe Lunardi's Bracketology forecast, which shows the Hornets coming in as a 16th seed and playing #1 Kentucky in the Midwest Regional in Louisville. If that happened, even a lot 'more' publicity for the Hornets - millions would be checking out that game - at least for awhile.
