I think the ceiling is high for the program. There is so much potential! But, the problem is tapping that potential. The issue right now, which is extremely frustrating, is that it seems that Weber State Sports is like an untapped oil well. The crude just runs out and nobody is doing anything to catch it. Athletics seems like a bunch of dudes chillin by the crude stream using their hats, Big Gulp cups, and random buckets to take as much as they can, but that is about all. So much more revenue could be generated if marketing actually created a plan and executed it. If athletics would generate more money, the program could use that to create better TV contracts, bring in better teams, create a tournament, etc etc etc.
Another area they really are letting go by the wayside is student participation. That is a gold mine but no...nothing gets done or improves. Where does athletics think their future donors, boosters, and supporters are going to come from? That would be my top priority. Improve student attendance. USU season ticket holders love the antics of their student section. That student section has a powerful influence over the course of games and makes the Spectrum feel impervious and intimidating. Also, they increase the number of butts in the seats (i.e. fill the empty spots) and make it loud. It is almost like another form of entertainment for the season ticket holders.
To me, those things are holding back Weber as much so, or more so, than the coaching.
