Maybe someone who's been around more than me lately can explain some of the things I saw yesterday.
First, I know about the Alumni Center in the parking lot and the Broad, though I haven't been in the Broad yet. I had no clue about the construction going on north of the stadium. It seems that the old fieldhouse (and possibly the weight room that Visger worked so hard on) is GONE. What are these buildings supposed to be? They're even taking up our old practice field. The space between the track and where the fieldhouse used to be has been SERIOUSLY encroached upon. There's hardly any room between the bogus vendors and the fence for folk to get from one side of the field to the other.
And security. Since when is Raley's Field personnel pulling security work at OUR games? That's kind of excessive. I've never seen an incident that would require that. We've always had members of other Hornet teams and the campus police to do that. And there was hardly any access to the players and coaches after the game like before, except for those brave enough to hop the fence during the storming of the field, of course. (I was lucky to see Jonny O. afterwards.)
OK. My beef is off my chest. I hope someone can answer my questions.
