the lane violation vs nau

so i the final minute or so we made a free throw and had a lane violation and the point was deducted. we then went to over time and lost.

was it legit? thats a rare call to see at any level of play. i was very surprised. watching it on big sky tv i have absolutley no clue what happened.

did we really committ a violationa and the call was necessary? wow. u can say it cost us the game.

I sure didn't notice it but that doesn't mean it didn't happen. The call had a strange feel to it; it was unexpected, it's rarely called, and it didn't seem to be called with the ball in the air, I think the basket was made, the ball had bounced on the floor and then the whistle blew.

From my vantage point it looked like Joel crossed the line before the shot went through.

The ref called the violation on Berry but Berry was no where near the line to violate the lane.

I watched the replay. Berry did not commit a lane violation. Yes, Joel kinda did, but so did NAU. It was a bad call and one that shouldn't have been called. The ref should have swallowed his whistle. Oh well. As Olds pointed out in another thread, Weber missed more than 1 freebie in their game on Saturday.
