The Shoe Drops at the Manure Pile

I don't know what the exact deficit their athletic department had but these cuts probably won't be enough to make up the difference in the long run. The cut of women's crew will probably save them the most money given its an expensive sport to fund (mainly travel expenses).

Men's wrestling is not a surprise, I doubt many people showed up to watch it. No idea what the savings are with that cut. Same goes with Men's Swimming and Diving.

Now the indoor track cut makes no sense. Seeing as athletes and coaches on XC and outdoor track compete and coach this sport, I don't think there is a big cost savings here other than travel expenses. Not sure if they have a women's indoor track team but if they are going to continue to fund them, then this cut makes even less sense.

Again, no idea if these cuts will balance their budget in the long term, but if it doesn't; I'd expect them to be right back where they are now a year from now.
