THE VICTORY DEW

RIGHT AFTER THE BIG APPLE DROPPED IN NEW YORK AND THE YEAR CHANGED FROM 2002 - 2003, THE VICTORY DEW WAS BORN... WEBER RAN THE TABLE THAT YEAR AND A TRADITION WAS BORN. STUDENTS WOULD ALL CONGREGATE OUT AT THE "VICTORY TREE" AND ENJOY AN ICY COLD CRISP CAN OF MTN DEW.

OUT OF ALL THE YEARS OF THE VICTORY DEW, WHICH TIME STANDS OUT FOR YOU? WAS IT THE NIGHT OF EWU's "HESTER" (RAISING THE ROOF) OR WAS IT "THE DUNK" (NIC SPARROW OVER NAU's KELLY GOLOB) OR WAS IT WHEN TAL HAD THREE STEALS (AGAINST EWU's BRENDON (NOSE) MERRIT AND THE MULLET)? OR WAS IT THE GAME IN 2006 AGAINST ISU (WITH PAPER BAGS)? THAT SAME YEAR SAC GOT ITS FIRST WIN IN OGDEN. OR WAS IT WHEN LILLARD JOINED US FOR A VICTORY DEW BEFORE HE GOT ON THE BUS IN POCATELLO 2009?

SERIOUSLY FROM 04 - 06 WEBER WAS THE BOTTOM OF THE BARREL!!! MY MY MY, THE CRAVENS YEARS, ALONG WITH BOB LEWSON, UNFORGETTABLE!!!

DON'T FORGET CARLA TAYLOR (FORMER WSU WOMENS BBALL COACH AND OWNER OF MACCOOLS)

One that stands out was one of the first Victory Dews at the new Victory Lightpole. We had just beaten USU and while we were celebrating a USU cheerleader walked by and Talhad said something to her about losing or something. And she almost cried and acted like Talhad was trying to fight her. It was Lolarious. Gotta Love/hate USU chicks.

I don't even remember this happening.

Just for those who are interested, the Victory Tree tradition was born in the Fall of 2000, by a brother of Sigma Chi Omega. It became tradition to congregate/park by the tree prior to and after all Weber State basketball games. The Victory Dew was conceived by Bengalhater, and the speeches of excellence by n.ogdencat. In the Spring of 2003 you could always find purplefogdog at the Bell Tower, with his red cooler, full of dew, of course, chilling. What was his GPA that term? Ahhhh...greatest semester ever!!

Best moment though...oh, how can one be better than another. Each experience has its unique quality; however, there was a time, pre-big sky TV, where true fans would meet at the true, tailgate a bit, and listen to major away games. It was at the tree that Catcat, myself, Bengalhater, PattenJr, Migra, Wazzu, DJ Stryde, and others listened to Weber's win over Sac St. in the Big Sky tourny where Lance was escorted off the court. Also, we listened to Weber's win over PSU. Those were memorable nights at the tree. How about the time the Volleyball team showed up and painted us...hmmm...that was memorable too. :kisswink:

best victory dew for me was my very first time the first game of the 07-08 season when i started my carrer in the front row looool

WHILE SITTING ON THE FRONT ROW IS FUN... IT IS MORE FUN TO SIT BACK AND WHINE ABOUT THE STUDENT SECTION TWIDDLING THEIR THUMBS... AND YOU PEOPLE THAT SIT ON THE FRONT ROW NOW AND DON'T MAKE ANY NOISE, BLAME IT ON THE OTHER GUYS.

Let the Victory Dew proceed!

How can you pick just one favorite Victory Dew or pre B-ball tailgate? The one where there was about a foot of fresh snow in the parking lot comes to mind. Everyone painting signs in the snow and scarffin brats. Tim Toone hangin out with us. The helmet BBQ gettin' ripped off...aaaahhhh...the memories!
I have been honored to have been included in many Victory Dews and B-Ball tailgates.( I am but a humble photog) :grizo1: ALL have their own special memories. Thanx to all who still make the Victory Dew a special event. Lets keep it going and expand it. I'd love to see 100 fans or more DEW the Victory Dew. That would be awesome. Maybe we can get the Pepsi vendor to donate free DEW and let everyone know about it. Heck, we'd get 100's....1000's! H
