1. It looks like the magic message board fairy made me an admin in my sleep the other night. When I went to bed my user name was black when I woke up it was green and I had this moderation panel showing. I am not sure I am totally comfortable being a mod but I guess if it will allow me to unpin threads that aj starts I will take it. But please know that it is nothing that I wanted, asked for, or aspired to.

2. The Big Sky has had a miserable 10 days. We are losing to some bad teams. The strength that our conference seemed to gain has been lost. Too bad we didn't play at Arlington, at least the conference could have had one win over a D-1 program today.

3. In my depression over the cancelled game and a snowy day, I decided to let the Standard Examiner treat me to some tickets to the women's game. I really liked how Beth attacked the press every time they faced it. I actually enjoyed going to a women's game. Was this really the team that did not win a single game in almost two years? I thought they played tough. They were down big early. They made some nice adjustments and won.

4. Everyone that has been complaining about the schedule is spot on right. Most of the teams in our league have played twice as many games as we have. At first I thought it was no big deal. But it is, todays cancellation is only making it worse.

I'm not sure how I feel about our schedule. I think that I will reserve judgment until the season is over. If it's all about peaking at the right time, maybe the coaches think they know something that we don't. With that said, as a fan, I love to see good games, and a variety of teams. Next year seems infinitely better, with the inclusion of the Paradise Jam, Thanksgiving tournament.

With basically the same players who struggled through the long losing streak, the women's team has seemed to mature and is playing with a lot more confidence now. Last night, Dez Ramos was sensational. She was on the floor practicing her shot 20 minutes before the rest of the team. She was sporting a black eye, presumably obtained at practice. She had a determined look on her face and went out to dominate the game. She scored 34 points and willed the team back from a 16 point first half deficit to a 15 point win. It was a great win for the women's team.

Uh, when did we start talking ladyball..

WHO Cares... :tothehand: :bananahump:

Oldrunner is all over it though, break it down for us Runner

I may not be like the rest of you, I love women, but we all share the love of basketball and sport in general. A good game is a good game. The only thing different is that the women don't dunk as much. The women seem to be able to get a better schedule than the men. Part of that is due to the fact that there is less money in their game and hirer ranked teams can't afford to just purchase 20 win seasons. In that respect the women's game is more fair and inclusive.

If more would give it a chance, more would come to like it. :thumb: :thumb:

I saw that, too, and very much wanted to take my daughter to watch the Lady Cats but schedules wouldn't allow. That team was extremely young last year and still very young this season. It's good to see them getting some W's after such a long and ugly drought.

@oldrunner:  I love women, too, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with keeping an eye on the ladies, so to speak, and supporting ANY WSU program.
