So we've lost a couple games in a row! We're proving Bill Bradley's point by allowing interest in Hornet Football to subside!

We've got a huge game against MSU this weekend and I will be there cheering on the team. I think we win this week and finish out the year 3-2 (Wins over MSU, ISU, and UNC with losses to UCD and EWU on the road).

Go Hornets!
 
I agree the board is dead. Not so much about the rest of the season. I think EWU and NC should be tough. We take MSU at home, man handle Davis and Idaho on the road but I think EWU and NC will be the toughest.
 
I don't think its dead, but the two blowout losses have been disheartening. Nonetheless, I will be there Saturday rooting and cheering on the Hornets. I think this is a game they can easily win and get momentum back on their side. If Smith hadn't been out of the NAU game, I still think we would have lost, but it would have been closer and the Montana game probably would have been different too.

Again, injuries have taken their toll this year as we should easily be 5-2 and 2-2 right now. All things considered, I think we will be fine.
 
I think that the injuries have upset the positive rhythm that we had in the first part of the season.
The loss of Evander has hurt our offensive options. With such a young team the injuries have not caused as many problems with a fall off of talent of the replacements as they have a fall off of experience. We still have a a really solid, talented young team. If we are able to stay healthy the rest of the way we have a very good chance to win all our remaining games! I am looking forward to Saturday and the rest of the season!
 
Dead?

Like 85-17? Being completely dominated and man-handled like a rag doll.

Until we start to show improvement it is another ho-hum year. Nothing to get excited about. We haven't had two loses in a row, we have had 20 years of losing (except for 2000?).

We are undefeated when it comes to annual excuses. Injuries, youth, facilities, state school stigma, global warming, whatever.

Other teams have the same issues and they win. At this point I am not so sure what it will take to win at Sac State. If it wasn't for sub-league HSU and SOU we would be 1-6 right now.

Not to be crass, but 20 yrs. of following this program has put me into a position that it is same-o until the team proves me wrong.
 
GCM you are definitely entitled to that view, but you have to see it in person though. Wish you could be back out here to see the daily changes that Sperbeck and staff have put in. This team is way different than the Volek/Moose years. And for the better!

I watch Bigskytv, so I have seen the games. Kicking Gordon off the team is necessary I guess, but the same drama as the Volek era.

GCM please note that it has nothing to do with his attitude. I'm not sure that it actually is necessary for him to be kicked as well. As far as your comment about "status" of Sac State, I think you are right. Two blow outs have really hurt the morale of the fan base and from what I hear, the team as well.
 
I hate to admit it, but GCM has a point. How many more losing seasons can the program endure before it is scrapped? I really hope that doesnt happen though, but why keep a team around that no one cares about and cant produce a winning season and bring some pride to the school.

There is NO reason we should be getting blown out by BSC teams, the Hornets are supposed to be the same caliber.

Sorry if I sound so negative, I'm just trying to realistic. :|

I'll be at the game on Saturday, like always, rooting for the Hornets.
 
what do you mean neccesary to kick Gordon off the team? I have watched every game and never once seen the kid with attitude problems. If someone has attitude problems it's Hill and it's notticable in games and if you have ever been to a practice. I heard from a player what it was for and like THR said I will keep it private untill it is released. As for a losing season? Were 3-4 with 5 games left. I'm not a math genius but I'm almost certain we can have a winning record. 8-4, 7-5. I beleive those are winning records. No wonder the hornets don't have fans just a bunch of ppl who jump on the wagon when things are going good then jump off as soon as they lose some games. Give Marshall time, it's his second year and he has much improved. I say give all coaches at least 4 years to judge this way all his recruits are playing.

It amazes me just how much posters on this board jump to conclusions....Gordon was not removed for attitude problems (like some of these posters should be). It was an honest mistake IMO! All of you need to "Stop Jumping to Conclusions with Little Known Facts" just the way it was done with Smith's surgery! Lose 2 games and those who are suppose to be supporters start jumping...SOME SUPPORTERS! This team has alot of talent, character, brains, heart, self esteme, honor, pride, passion, desire, respect, intensity, must I continue.......Those of you who feel the need to trash talk need to pass this onto Montana State. We will prevail....GO HORNETS! Those who feel a need to try and discredit the Sac State program should be ashamed!

Sperbeck vs. Tisdale. This board would alive with positive remarks and the Hornets with 6 wins if Coach Tisdale were the FB coach. This is what needs to happen, happen soon. Hire John Volek as your A.D., Jeff Tisdale ,FB coach and Rob Wilson as your baseball coach. All are at Sierra College and live close to Sac. State. I have lived in the area for 37 years and have been watching Sac. State athletics suffer through some tough times. I do not know the hiring policies of Sac. State,but it seems to be very political ,family oriented and OLD FOOTBALL ALUMNI pushing the political wagon. Hope the board comes alive and the Hornets play with some fire and finish with a winning record. Go Hornets
 
What the F*#k? Gordon no longer on the team. Sorry work has been extremely busy, no time. This board is suppose to be the first to know. That's why we're here. What do you mean it was not for conduct or attitude! What is it? Grades? Like we've never speculated before. Come on! Tell us why he's out if you know!!!!! Big loss that impacts our future.
 
Listen, Hornet Superior a.k.a. macfooter, get off the Tisdale thing, he wasnt the right fit! I dont care what he's done with Sierra College, there's a reason Sperbeck got the job over Tisdale.

That's right, I know you are the guy that posts all those negative comments on the Bee, dont do it here. :evil:
 
Gordon was at practice today practicing. He's not off the team. Maybe one should not jump to conclusions about grades and things of that nature. Also if you have a problem with the coaching staff keep it to yourself because I ha e not seen once how the coaches have lost a game. The kids lose it themselves, they just don't know how to win yet. By the way nice screen name hornet supperior. It doesn't at all sound like you THINK your better than everyone else. Keep your negative comments to yourself or go elsewhere. The people here are here to support the hornets not talk trash. Let me know how Sperbeck does after they contend for a big sky championship next year.

I am NUTS for the Hornets, so I am tired of this talk because it sounds like defeatist negativisms. I encourage all of you to discontinue this thread, and we should delete it.

I have not been around as long as some of you, but I am here to pick you up and carry you when you are wounded by these tough times.

So, here is my pep-talk. Knock this S#%! Off, now! The next one to talk down about the Hornets, who calls him or herself a Hornet fan, should go post somewhere else.

Our job is to wear Green & Gold, cheer for our side, and yell disparaging remarks to the enemy.

I expect everyone to stand-up, tailgate your hardest, and encourage our Hornets to fertilize Hornet Stadium with the remnants of MSU. See you all Saturday.

THR - You posted Gordon was kicked off the team. Today he was at practice! Where is all this information coming from? What a circus. However, if he's back, that's great news. He's developing each week and is needed for our future success.
It's definitely hard when your team loses. The tension on this thread is so thick you can cut it with a knife. I too, feel our expectations are not being met. What is the missing ingredient? Also, don't blame it on injuries. Everyone is dealing with them at this point in the season. I believe a convincing WIN this week will loosen us up. GO GET IT DONE HORNETS!

I am superior; been watching this losing far to long. Tisdale won CBHS, Sac City, Nevada and now Sierra, so I guess he's not the right fit. Do we want wins or tailgates? Go Hornets.
