Guys, this is ridiculous. You guys are taking a college team WAY too damn seriously. I understand that I'm younger and my only tie-in to the school is family members who have gone to Weber. But you guys have to understand one thing: they're not professionals, they're college kids at a mid major school whose chances of the NBA are slim as hell, and you guys need to understand that Rahe isn't just coaching for wins and losses, he's preparing still developing kids regardless of their future profession how to face the world. I know some of you guys are members of the Wildcat club but you guys aren't there to make coaching decisions. If we have a bad season we have a bad season. But guess what? The sun will still rise tomorrow and there is still going to be next year and the next year and the year after that. I'm not always gonna be pro-Rahe, but unless he keeps losing year after year or does something despicable off the court then his contract is still gonna be in tact. People shouldn't go to extremes because we like it or not, we should embrace other opinions and let them be. Yes I've said some stupid things before, but I was thinking about what I've said and what everyone else has said, and I had to bring myself down to earth. We need to think about this situation and what we can do as fans to always be the best in the BSC. Does that always mean we should only be positive? Not necessarily. It's always good to point out flaws and how they can be fixed, but going to extremes are never the answer. Trust me, going to school in the Salt Lake Valley isn't always sunshine and lollipops when BYU-Utah is on the calendar, and that's because they go to extremes for their team.

In conclusion, we need to come to terms with the fact that Weber State lost a college basketball game that has no effect on the way we live our lives and move on.

:blah: Great rant AJ....

All good points, but fans are allowed to be fans. The highs are high and the lows are low. Whining and complaining are all normal parts of sports fandom. You don't see anyone in here tracking down these student athletes and berating them about a loss. It's a fan forum. For discussion. For celebrating. And for venting. Get over yourself, RandomGuy.

I'm not saying you can't be fans or you can't comment. But I am saying the reactions on this board are too far over the line when we lose. And on a side note, I have seen people berating players on the board after losses and blaming it on them (most notably Senglin last night). Some people have even said players need to be benched after ONE bad game. Please don't take this negatively, I just want to get opinions out there so we can improve as fans.

he does not get paid 350k and have by far the best facilities to be a social worker....Rahe and the program are getting compensated at a much higher level than any other BSC team...therefore win baby win is justified

I can see both sides of the argument here, yes its a site for fans but Randomguy has a point. These are kids and ragging on the guys especially if they go on this site could be very detrimental to the player. These kids give it 100% every time they go out on the floor and also at training. If someone wrote about you in your job saying your basically rubbish how would you feel. Let them enjoy themselves most of these players will realistically only play for these years and will soon be in the world of work, wife kids etc. I know that everyone thinks they can coach better than Rahe but believe me it is harder than you think as I have been a coach for 25 years but not at that level. Lets support all players that give it their all. Even the ones that don't play very often.

Imagine this is real estate and we purchase a modest house on 22nd and Van Buren in Ogden for $400,000. The appraisal comes back with a value of $140,000. But we tell the appraiser that the house is in really good condition and has been updated so it has to be worth what we paid. But the reality is that a 1500 square foot house on Van Buren in Ogden is worth $140,000. No one would ever in their right mind purchase a 1500 square foot house on 22nd and Van Buren for $400,000.

The reality is that we are paying $400,000 a year for a $140,000 per year position. The fact that we have to rely on private donations to make such payment each year makes it even more crazy. Randy is a great person, but he is over paid. And Scout is right Win Baby Win is justified. North Dakota just won the Big Sky regular season with the lowest paid coach in the conference, a difficult recruiting atmosphere and a fan base completely focused on hockey.

How is Win Baby Win justified? This isn't pro ball nor are we a constant national contender. This is a mid major SCHOOL where the players are getting an education, not a paycheck. Next: Is he overpaid? I don't know but none of us are the ones managing the schools budget. If anything we should be happy that we have to rely on donations to pay his salary because that means money is going to other parts of the school in areas where they need it.
