Three Games Next Week

I didn't even realize this, but the Cats have three games next week. Why exactly are there games scheduled on Monday nights in the Sky? Weber plays both games against ISU on Monday nights. Why?

Does this have to do with the ROOT TV contract? Wasn't ROOT supposed to have broadcasted 8 league games during the basketball season? Why haven't they followed through with the original deal? Is it because the Sky is sooo bad? They could have had only Weber basketball games like they did for football with UM and MSU.

I think it's all just because of the new lengthy conf schedule. SUU played at Sac on Monday, play us tonight and then I believe home to Idaho State on Saturday, so seeing as they are in the same boat, it must be a scheduling issue.

Edit, after looking at our schedule, we play ISU at home on a Monday, then home to Montana on Thursday and then home to MSU on Saturday of the same week in February

Every team in the league has one three-game week this year. The 20-game conference schedule has played havoc this year. ISU, for example, is off on Thursday, then has to bus down to Cedar City on Friday, play the T-Birds on Saturday, then bus back to Pocatello on Sunday and play Weber on Monday. Weber, meanwhile, plays on Thursday, is off on Saturday, then plays at ISU on Monday. You'd think they could match those schedules up somehow so they could get Weber and ISU together either going up or down to Cedar City.

In any event, it will be great when Idaho joins the league, they go to divisions and go back to 16-game league schedules -- for a number of reasons.
