Thurs: EWU @ Weber, 7 PM

Weber is 34-19 overall against EWU all-time, 23-3 in Ogden, and 11-16 in Cheney. Coach Rahe is 3-2 against the Eagles, 33-13 against the Big Sky, and 51-34 overall thus far in his 3rd season.

An eagles sweep would be awesome!! Valentine and The Giant Bald dude are both really good though, and they are playing better than they have been. Weber can't lose focus and concentrate all their energy on their rematch with PSU...They've got to take care of business and beat Eastern. Eastern has a number of weapons, and you never know what Eastern team will show up. Weber just needs to play their game.

The Aegles bring a two game winning streak into Ogden on Thursday. However, Eastern has lost their last 4 road games dating back to their road win over Sac on Jan 4. In 3 of those 4 road games the Ealges were in it till the end, only their game at Portland State were they handily defeated (22pt loss). Eastern is led by Benny Valentine and Brandon Moore (Bald Ugly Guy). However, Adris Deleon and Milan Stanojevic both have a tendancy to get hot; Stanojevic is deadly from three point range. Valentine is a 5'8" 185lbs guard. Coach Rahe said that Valentine "is a Kellen on steroids." He is their most dangerous and aggressive player. Down low, the Cats need to limit Moores touches by playing aggressive defense. Once Moore gets frustrated two things happen, he commits more fouls, and he also, misses shoots. There is really only one way to limit Valentine, the Cats just need to stay in front of him and make sure there is a hand in his face. If you play more aggressive than him he can be stopped. This is a homecoming, of sorts, for coach Kirk Earlywine who spent 7 years at Weber State as an asst. under coach Joe Cravens. I heard he has been evicted from C.A.D.D (Coaches Against Drunk Driving) for breaking one of their by-laws. A player of interest is Chris Busch. Busch was recruited by Weber State last spring, but eventually choose to sign with Eastern. I'm not sure if Weber offered him anything, but if they did and he choose EWU over Weber he'll quickly discover, if he hasn't already, what a huge mistake he made once he steps into the Dee. This, like all of their remaining games, is crucial for the Cats success. Weber can't afford to overlook the Eagels in anticipation to the Portland State game on Sat. They need to bring it and thoroughly beat the Eaglse.

What happened to Adris Deleon ???

He doesnt start anymore and his stats have dwindled.

Last year he was off the hook even had a 40 pt game.

Injury? Lost his will to play?

I think, he missed two and a half months with either an injury or academics at the start of the season. But, i don't think his lack of playing time has anything to do with an injury, he's probably just not playing well. His last decent game was against Weber, but never count him out. He is an outstanding player who has mad skills. Nevertheless, he hasn't shown much grit either lately, which is probably why he is getting less time on the court. He just doesn't care as much...

Eastern is just 3-23 all-time in Ogden, with Eastern’s lone victories there coming in 2006 (76-73), 2001 (81-70) and 2000 (90-78) when Eastern snapped the Wildcats' 30-game home winning streak, which at the time was the fourth longest in NCAA Division I.

-- DeLeon and Busch Finally Cleared to Play -- The 75-55 Hawaii loss on Dec. 13 marked the season debuts for returning 12-game starter Adris DeLeon and junior college transfer Chris Busch. Both missed the first eight games of the season before being officially cleared to play on Dec. 12 after final exams from fall quarter were completed and grades submitted.

DeLeon has averaged 5.1 points in an average of 15.4 minutes per game. He made his first start of the season against Sacramento State on Jan. 4 and responded with 17 points and three assists. Busch, who scored a team-high 13 at Washington on Dec. 20, is averaging 4.4 points and 2.5 rebounds in 15.1 minutes per game. Busch is a transfer from Merritt Junior College in California while DeLeon averaged 12.5 points and 3.1 assists in 27 games last year for EWU.

Earlywine:

"It’s always even harder (to win in Ogden) when Weber State has really good teams, which they do," he said. "Ever since (a 71-65 loss at Arizona) they have played very, very good basketball. As a team, they function very, very well, and that has enabled them to pull-out a lot of close games."

The Eagles have won 13 of the last 27 meetings after losing nine-straight from 1992-1996.

Thats means that they are 13-14, since 1996... I'm guessing that most of their wins happened in the last 10 years. When was the last time the won in Ogden? I know that Weber has won three times this decade in Cheney... 03, 05, 09... Weber has had some great games against Eastern in the Past... One of my favs. happened in 04. JOHNNY "Sloth" Hamilton hit 8 treys against the Eags, with four occurring in OT. DJ Stryde was instrumental in the Wildcat victory as he challenged Johnny to keep shooting the 3... Johnny and Alvin Snow were virtually unstoppable... The game came down to who would miss first... GREAT GAME!! For a while there Weber and Eastern had one hell of a rivalry.

One could call this a trap game with PSU on Sat. I don't think the team will over look the Eags...not with just 12 home games this year!

yeah, i was right next to DJ Stryde when he helled "Shoot it Johnny". If memory serves me right, we all rushed the court after and hoisted Johnny onto our shoulders. Defenitly one of my favorite Dee moments of all time.

Just got home from the game. Great job by Weber to lock EWU down and play a pretty good game. They seemed like they could have had a bit more of an inside presence, but a win by a lot is a win by a lot. Great job Weber!

Great game!!

Panos a dunk!!!

A solid all around team....McCoy didn't score much yet it didn't matter.

Panos/Lillard/Davis combined for 56 points!

Box score looks very good.

Statistically this looks like the best game of Panos' career. 20 rebounds between Panos/Bull/Mahoney

I was a little dissapointed with the crowd, but it was a Thursday game.

I think most people just came for the awesome free towels and then took off. My towel was made in Bangladesh, thus making it extra special. But the real reason I was there was to watch the spectacular halftime performance by the Gold's Gym dancers. Best halftime ever (note the sarcasm here). The paper airplane thing saved it from being the worst halftime in recorded history. I notice that CatCat landed a plane right on the target but didn't win the trip to Disneyland. You got robbed.

Was that because he was the individual who RAN onto the court and placed in the circle?

Ok...I admit I did cheat. I was on the front row first seat, the usher Kim and the cop Paul weren't looking. Just couldn't resist!

I was a little worried Paul might kick me out. I think if it would have been a time out with the teams on the floor I woulda been gone! LOL

The final three came on a 35-foot shot just before the shot clock expired with a minute left in the game.

"I thought I air-balled it," Davis said. "It's a no-pressure shot, if you miss it you can't get in trouble with the coach because you have to shoot it."

That truly was gut-wrenching!!! If it had been PURPLEFOGDOG, I'm sure Paul would have tazzed him for sure! I'm sure Coach Pilkington would have been impressed with your form and how well you paced yourself.
