If we play anything like we have on the road thus far we have a great shot at winning at UNC, UM might lose at MSU who has beaten us and PSU, PSU likely will win both games.

If Weber can get a win against UNC, I think it will be a win that is just as significant as the win in Portland. It is going to be tough.

73-70 with two minutes left. This is a pretty awesome game. My first real experience with Big Sky TV isn't disappointing either. What a great addition for the conference fans.

UNC misses a plethora of three point attempts and the game is over. Great comeback win for the 'cats.

"It was a gritty win," said WSU head coach Randy Rahe. "I saw a lot of tired legs out there. This is the time of the season where the veterans know you have to push yourself and obviously Kellen was proof of that tonight."

About McCoy:

"If he's not the frontrunner for player of the year right now then I don't know who is," said WSU forward Kyle Bullinger. "He has put us on his back so many times, late in games and on the road in tough situations; you can count on him every single night. It's really fun to watch, but it's also really great to be his teammate."

For those who watch the game on bigskytv what was the deal with UNC radio guy? I think the whole second half he kept saying that ever since the Bears join the Big Sky Weber has gotten special treatment for the refs. But while he saying this crap Weber guys are fouling out and his team is in the bonus after 8 min into the second half. What a moron, we all understand that most of the Big Sky refs are whistle happy, but come on this needs to show some class and understand that the Bears got beat by a better team bottom line.

Doesn't bother me a bit. He's entitled to his opinion, and he gets paid to share that opinion on the radio. I for one appreciate the other viewpoint, with the exception of Mick Holstein from the grisly um radio station. I would prefer to listen to Wildcat Carl call the game, but he's biased toward the Wildcats just like the UNC radio guy is biased toward the Bears. Each team's radio guy gets paid to provide as much enjoyment for his audiences as possible -- it's his job to call the (insert team name here) game for the (insert team name here) fans.

There's talk that the next tweek of BigSkyTV will give us the option of choosing the audio feed. Until then, recognize that at an away game we will be listening to a homer (or turn down the audio on the computer and turn on a radio to listen to Carl), and be grateful you get to watch the game at all.

The only problem with listening to Carl while watching bigskytv is the delay. Hear it happen and then 5+ seconds see it happen.

I actually mentioned that on the bears blog, And yes, every teams announcer is bias, but this guy was ignorant biased, Carl gives the other team credit when its due, UNC's guy did nothing but complain about Weber getting away with this or getting away with that, or how they get special treatment from the refs, the whole time the Wildcat players are fouling out. You could tell this guy dislikes Weber. There's nothing wrong with biases, just as long as they're not ignorant.

I was at the game, so I don't have any comment on the UNC duder, but I will say that most UNC fans think of us as their rivals, and also, as the school to become. I was talking to one of their old-timers at the game and he said that UNC is envious of Weber State, not only because of basketball, but because of everything. He called Weber State the "Class of the Sky." He said academically Weber is solid with high graduation rates and numerous Academic All-Americans. That Weber is consistently competitive in every single athletic program, and that our facilities are by far the best. His daughter plays volleyball for the Bears and he loved the Swenson. I asked what he thought about Montana, and he said "Who." It was BEAUTIFUL!!!
As for the refs... AWFUL!!! I can't understand what their announcer had to complain about. UNC had 5 fouls with 3 mins remaining, while Weber had 10, HUH??? UNC was in the double bonus in both halfs with almost about 8 mins remaining. In the first half UNC went to the FT line on 7 straight offensive possessions. Granted, I thought the Bears were playing pretty good defense, but there were a number of fouls that weren't called on them that should have been, while Weber was whistled for a number of ticky-tack fouls. Their fans kept complaining that McCoy was traveling, yet every single time he made a bucket he ended up on the ground or out of bounds. On one made lay-up he was practically thrown out of bounds and landed in their student section. NO FOUL was called...
Butler-Hancock is far better than the Hornets Nest and the Stott Center. It reminded me, a bit, of ISU's other stadium (I think Reid Gym). The bleachers were close to the floor and went all the way to the roof. If there were a lot of fans then it would be an intimidating place to play. Also, their football field is a pretty nice facility. So, I personally think that UNC was a good pick up for the Sky. I just hope the Sky only invites DI schools from now on (SUU, Cal Poly, Davis) to join.
