Tied for first

Montana just barely beat Portland St on Sunday. The Griz were up by double digits, but PSU came back on a 9-1 run late in 2nd half. Had a chance to win with a 3 or tie, but mishandled the ball and the clock ran out. Both Weber and MT are 8-1

So the question is, does Montana slip up before we meet them in Missoula? Hopefully we got it out of our system last night. They are pretty highly favored in all 7 remaining conf. Games according to Jeff Sagarin's PREDICTOR
Montana's remaining conference schedule:

date Probabilities. Spread
2-4 @Montana St. 80% 9.3
2-6 Idaho St. 93% 16.6
2-9 @Northern Colorado 69% 5.5
2-11 @Sacramento St. 82% 10.0
2-23 Northern Arizona 98% 22.5
2-25 Montana St. 93% 16.2
2-28 Weber St. 68% 5.1

Getting by PSU today was huge for the Griz. The big keys now are next week at msu and on the 9th at UNC. Get those two wins, and I don't see UM losing (ignoring the Bracketbuster) prior to Weber coming in. I'd sure love to say I agree that the Griz win 80% of the time in Bozo, per Mr. Sagarin, but I think that's a little generous. UNC loves to beat the Griz, so they'll play their hearts out in that game.

I'd sure love it if the Weber game was for the marbles.

The Griz are playing their guts out right now. I truly don't understand how they aren't getting more love in the Mid-Major polls. Their remaining schedule isn't a cakewalk, but in theory, they should win out until the Weber game.
However, I think WSU's letdown to the Bengals was a bad thing for Montana. When WSU loses, Randy Rahe lights a fire under their asses. All of Weber's opponents in the next two weeks or so, especially Portland St. on Thursday, should be crapping their pants right now. Just as the Wildcats did, the Griz could trip up on any given night, although I won't count on it. But come Feb. 28, I expect Weber's depth and experience, and most importantly, coaching, will pay off. The tourney WILL be at the Dee. Winning the tourney is a whole different ballgame for Rahe's team's though... :-(

@MSU and @UNCO are our best bets for Grizz losses. However, look what happened to Weber on Saturday night. On any given night a team can get upset. If I were a Grizz fan I would be worried about the 11th.
