The annual Mr Irrelevant!

Ladies and Gentlemen, Mr. Irrelevant 2010!
Ah, the melancholy end of another draft, heightened slightly in humor value by the specter of Mr. Irrelevant - the final player selected. This year, the 255th overall selection was Weber State receiver Tim Toone.
Toone, who is the 62nd best receiver in this draft class per NFLDraftScout.com, was taken by the Detroit Lions. He's actually been seen by all 32 NFL teams, because they were all in attendance for Weber State's pro day on March 9.
"There are three or four guys that they've looked at all year long [and] they need to get more information," head coach Ron McBride said at the time. "They don't say much, but I thought Tim Toone tested extremely well."
At 5-foot-10 and 185 pounds, Toone ran a 4.42-40 on a friendly pitch. He finished his Weber State career with 46 games played, 206 catches, 3,602 yards, and 29 touchdowns. He's also a dynamic return man, which is how he may make his bones in the NFL. In 2009 alone, he took two punts back over 90 yards for touchdowns.
The best part for Toone is that he has a to-do in his future - as the new Mr. Irrelevant, he is entitled to the following treats:
This year's selection of the final draft pick on Saturday, April 24th will launch Irrelevant Week 2010, which will be held June 21st through the 25th. That week, the player and his family will be hosted by the organization for a week of activities, including an Arrival Party at the local Newport Dunes Resort and a fund-raising roast delivered by celebrity guests at a banquet on June 23rd.
We salute you, Tim Toone, and all the other NFL draftees in the 2010 class. We hope you've enjoyed our draft coverage at Shutdown Corner and Yahoo! Sports, and we have much in store for you in the future. Offseason? What offseason?
