So what is the Den's thoughts on ISU purchasing the Ballard building? Think it will lead to something good for the university in the long run or is it a major gamble?

It was hardly a gamble, ISU will only spend 3.6 million for 200,000 square feet of additional research space. Of course, it's not the most functional building, nor will it be aesthetically pleasing.... but it's still a good investment for a university that has very serious space issues for research faculty and very little money for improvements.

Now, it you told me ISU spent considerably more for the old Banncok hospital... that is another story.

I stand corrected that's a pretty good deal there :) I think it will help out. You know, Idaho does have a proud history of research and cutting edge technology that belies the rural identity of the state (I am being serious).

This will benefit ISU in the long run, I believe. Good move on Vailas' part

ON donates $5 million in equipment for the recently purchased building.
