Tourney Time

They absolutely need a stronger (and tougher) front court but even if Braxton and Co. are the help they need, it would be a surprise if it didn't take a season for the results to kick in. They lose the only toughness they had in Hajek. Yes, they absolutely are in love with the 3, maybe because the bigs were being worked all year. I don't know that the results from hopefully upgraded talent on the team will be seen this next season, that's why I worry more of the same by Rahe and Co. could lead to another sub-par year. I agree about Hill too. You see glimpses from him that make you really excited for when his game explodes into something special but glimpses is all you ever get. The rest is just a player that looks awkward, confused, and lethargic. I don't get it. It sure seems like something is there, it just doesn't come out.

I didn't get to see the NAU @ SAC game but it looks like NAU won it it the 2nd half, in a fairly close game. I hope the sole BSC survivor continues winning and I hope they snag a home game along the way.

Is it just me, or have others noticed what has been going on at the dance. Advancing teams are doing it with defense and rebounding. There have been a lot of teams advancing with poor offensive showings. I don't see anybody doing it with superior offense. Also, there has been some zone, but the majority of, and best, defenses have been half court, man to man. Also, having a defensively dominant big man seems to be a key element on the advancing teams. That, and the big, athletic, wing player.

I have watched both Utah and Duke play and this is what I think will happen in that game. Utah has some size and defensive ability, but in comparison to Duke's players they are quite thin. Duke plays a very physical defense and is stronger at all positions. Unless the refs call a lot of fouls on Duke, not going to happen, the Utes will get blown out of this one. Utah's offense is questionable and their defense is good. Duke's offense is solid and their defense is outstanding. I see few scenarios where the Utes don't get blown out of the water.

Tell me where I am wrong. :coffee:

Your 100% accurate! Which is why last year's team failed! We got beat up in the paint and got exposed for being soft! Defense matters, but winning the paint is huge! It opens up everything on the court!

Joel is a great player.,... Not a 5! I hope Rahe figures it out!

Randy has already said that Joel was playing out of position for most of the year and that it won't happen much next year. We can put that one to bed. :wall:

Looks like a BSC team lives on at least for one more...NAU beat Kent St. 74-73 in CIT...good. Just sad in that the only $$ for the conference from a tourney is the Big Dance - one & done. The poor stay poor.
