Montana wins close one against EWU & moves up to number 2.

We win and fall from 15th to 16th. I guess playing Sac St hurts you in the poll.

EWU falls out of the top 25 and NAU makes it to 24th after not being ranked all season.

SUU was possibly one play away from being ranked.

I think the TSN poll is kind of a joke now that the ChampionshipSubdivision poll is out.

TSN had an 0-4 team with a bunch of votes to be ranked 2 weeks ago. I belive it was Lehigh.

Anybody really think Montana is the 2nd best team in FCS?

No, I don't think university of montana (lower case intentional) is the 2nd best team. They played a very light preseason schedule. They have quality wins over Cal Poly at home and ewu at home (barely).
I think the cupcake schedule comes back to haunt them in the end. Having to play on the road against a very good opponent is a great learning experience.

I think um deserves to be ranked about 8 or 9 and WSU to be about where they are at 15 or 16. If WSU wins out, then they deserve to be in the top 5.

I am in agreement with UM being #2 until proven otherwise...no one has beat them even though they've had 4 "losable" games.

I'm just glad we get the opportunity.

Assuming UM beats Sac St on the road this week, the Grizz should be at least #2 in the nation when Weber faces them. And considering #1 Richmond could lose this week against against #14 UMass (UMass just knocked off #4 New Hampshire), it's possible UM could be #1 next week. So regardless of Weber's result against N Colorado this week, wouldn't a win over the #2 or #1 nationally ranked team on their home field be the biggest win in school history? Can't wait until Halloween! But first, beat N Colorado.

No big deal. Weber could fall again this week after playing unranked Northern Colorado. Considering that Weber has really only played two good games and lost at least two that we should have won (Colorado State and Montana State), we are lucky to be ranked that high. There are too many competitive teams in the top 25.

With two wins over top 25 teams NAU and Cal Poly and no losses, Montana is a good a choice as any for #2. In any case, for playoff purposes it helps Weber's power rankings for Montana (and any other WSU opponent) to be ranked as highly as possible! Beating #2 Montana at WA GRIZ and winning out the rest of the way gives Weber at least a chance for a top 4 seed and two consecutive home playoff games.

If the Wildcats lose even one more game to finish the season at 7-4, there will likely be several 8-3 teams and even a couple of 7-4 teams with a better chance to get that last at-large invitation to the playoffs. Having lost to Montana State, Weber has little chance to make it to the playoffs except by winning out. That means beating #2 Montana on the road, and #24 Northern Arizona and #20 Cal Poly at home. All these games are winnable if we continue to play relatively mistake-free football.

ya it hurts a ton in the post season when we have a great team wonder into wa griz and play us. i mean what would happen if Weber State came and played us in the Post season!      And besides montana chokes all the time

I mean after all Weber beat Colorado state....oh wait. but im sure they beat Wyoming.....oh wait. Well its not like they are going to lose any other Big Sky games.....OH WAIT. ITS not like Weber is one loss away from not making the playoffs.(in most ppl opinion)

1 good season does NOT JUSTIFY WEBER BEING THE BEST IN THE BIG SKY. but weber wont choke like montana. They wont fumble on a winning drive....nor will they ever lose on a road in the first round. After all montana didnt beat anyone on the road.....

How 'bout now???

How could anyone think Montana shouldn't have been ranked number 2?

Here's a primer: If you have an undefeated national champion, they should get EVERY SINGLE number one vote.

If you have an undefeated national finalist, they should get EVERY SINGLE number two vote. If you vote differently, you're a moron. Or a bobcat. But I hate to be redundant.

Richmond #1
Montana #2

Any questions?

How could anyone think Montana SHOULD be ranked number 2? A number 2 team doesn't beat a winless team, a team that lost to a D2 team, by 2 points. UM has no chance at winning a national title. Once they have to leave Missoula in the playoffs, they will lose.

I agree, the jizzlies are a great team in missoula.....and that's that. once they leave the comfort of their 'protected' stadium it's a roll of the dice.....so it doesn't matter, jizzlies lose in the 1st round of the playoffs....oh wait, they'll probably host the 1st round......ok, 2nd round they lose. bye bye
