Two reasons KU doesn\'t get anywhere

One they expect a player to shoot 70 percent from the floor every game.

Two they do not get the same officiating crew on saturday. What a freakin joke. I didn't even bet the spread but I would bet on some people who did.

Last: COSTON is the PLAYER of the future. Please try to argue that.

I hate wining abouyt refs but WTF?

Guess that comes with a 16. Thats not right. GO KU but your not going to run the board this year sorry.

Now come on, we all knew this game would end up like this. We did our best but Kansas played like a #1 seed, we should be thankful that they called off the dogs early. They could have been up by 60 if they hadn't.

Thanks jzhawk. I will root for KU all the way but I seriously doubt they get that much love from the refs again. You can look back on this forum and others and don't waste your time before saturday but I have never once complained about bad officiating and that was unreal. Like I said though I know what comes with a number 16 seed. But in all fairness from a Jayhawk fan we were better than you thought huh?

I'm surprised PSU only lost by 24, frankly. Kansas loves to slaughter people & they tend to do so whenever they win.

Kansas will probably cave if a good team manages to play them close. I don't think anyone in the Midwest will do that, though. I have the Jayhawks getting to the Final 4 & then losing to Tennessee.

We take our starters out pretty early, and we definitely do not like to slaughter people. It amazes me when people say we tend to cave in close games. Our teams from a couple years ago may have caved. They were loaded with Frosh and Sophs. But anyone that watched this team this year knows we did not cave in close games at all.

To the Viks, hell of a game, you guys played well. I'll be rooting for you next year!

One thing I learned a LONG time ago. Save whining about the refs for games you win. It's unseemly otherwise. It's particularly unseemly when you lose by more than 20.

I really doubt you know much about this tournament, being new to it. The Holy Cross team (16 seed) which pushed us five years ago (pushed us MUCH harder than you did) made us look foolish. After the game, everyone said we looked like we were going nowhere. What happened? We ended up going to the Final Four. This tournament's a marathon. You're running a sprint and thinking of it like a sprint. Spare us your judgment on our chances. 99 percent of us have tried to be gracious before and after this game. Most of your fans have been similarly gracious.

Be a good loser.

12 You are right I have KU all the way how can I not at this point? You will from people on here and the olive forum that everyone is proud of the viks. So am I but I want more. I want more than a first round upset and want more than a second round upset I want it all. The refs were bad. So what I know thats what you get when your a 16 seed. Erase all that and I don't get much of the viking fans base. I know its beautiful to get your first chance to dance. But I have done a lot in my life and I am not content with saying thats ok. Granted KU has a great team this year and like I have already said they should take it all. But our cherry is poppped I want PSU to do more. I want them to be NCAA champs and you can laugh all you want and I know we didn't beat the spread. But Most of ptown has you guys cuttin down the nets anyways. Off to the third game of the day now that I am somewhat settled down. Go KU and I guess you guys don't like KSU so i will chant ROCK CHALK as hard as my blown out voice can. But well f it our guys played hard and thats alll that matters to me.

the refs were bad? seriously it was men among boys out there. don"t get us started. psu is a good team but we were throwing alley opps and draining 3's at ease. lose with dignity, bro

I didn't mean that Kansas runs up the score. I just meant that they tend to win in blowout fashion, but lose close.

The Jayhawks are 27-0 in double-digit affairs (18 of those are 20+ point wins), while they're just 5-3 in games decided by single-digits (losing 3 of the last 4).

Bad officiating? We're in the Big Sky, we should be used to it.

It did seem a little KU sided with the calls, but that certainly didn't affect the outcome of the game.

We cut it to six with just over nine to go in the first half and I was starting to get my hopes up, but KU would reel off a bunch of points in a row everytime we made a little run.

Moved on

I have already moved on from the officiating. Now I want to figure out how KU can win it all. If you don't agree thats fine but next year looks great for the VIKS. In the meantime lets talk about how KU can take it to the house. I think they need one of their guys to step up down low and own the paint but I might be wrong. Prove it. We played a hell of a game by the way and yeah if anyone tells me we didn't your likely to end up bleeding.

Good game Viks - your boys played hard and it surprised me that they were a 16 seed.

1985, if this is the first KU game you've watched, I understand why you don't think KU can win it all. However, had you been watching every single game all season long, you'd know that the game this afternoon wasn't even our B game. You'd also know we never expect one player to shoot 70% every game; we've had several different high scorers each game, it's a different guy each game. It's an incredibly unselfish team and if the guy who scored more last game isn't getting it done, somebody else will step up. I've been watching these boys play since they were freshmen and this year they have impressed me more than they ever have, and more than any other team I've watched (and I watch waaay too much b-ball!). When our guards aren't shooting well, our big guys inside will get it done. One way or another, this team finds a way to win!

I am extremely impressed with what your boys and your program have accomplished in such a short amount of time. I have a feeling you fans have a lot to look forward to. Best of luck next season - I hope to see your team back in the dance!!

KU Fans,

Good luck against UNLV. Should be a walk.

You guys are classy fans. Hopefully our paths meet again on the hardwood or maybe even on the gridiron.

:-)

nice game Viks. You guys have a solid squad. You came to play and didn't roll over. Look forward to seeing more of you guys in the future. Maybe we can set a date in our schedule the next couple of years, wouldn't mind seeing another game or two between our guys. Good luck next season. Maybe we can meet later in the dance next time

No, this is what you get when you're Bigger, Stronger, Faster, More athletic, Better, etc etc by such a large margain than the opposition...you have no choice but to foul to try and stop easy baskets.

On another note, Portland probably could have put the scare in a 2 or 3 seed had they been seeded differently. From what I can see, I'm not sure how you deserved a 16. Watching your team play was much closer to say, Belmont or Cal State Fullerton (in the first half anyways) than it was Mississippi Valley State
