Two Unsung Players

Two players I would like to take a moment and recognize:

Tyler McNannay: At the beginning of the season with Alcobendas, we were all pretty concerned with the kicking game. Missed PATs, missed field goals, and short kick offs. Ever since McNannay has taken over, our kicking game as been almost as good as with Pavel. PATs are a gimme and field goals are solid. Jake Miller has been handing kick offs and we are much better for it.

Cody Hecker: Every time I see this kid play I am impressed. He has really developed nicely, but is the victim of our deep stable of running backs. I am curious what he would do if he got to play outside of garbage time. Could he prove himself worthy of the #2 or #3 spot? Wonder what would happen if we gave him some rotations during the PSU game?

I was under he impression he was an under classman and was excited for the next couple years...burst that bubble just now.

He has been running great when he gets reps.

Forte, Brown and Hecker are all seniors...who do we have besides Wilson returning next year? Wilson has looked good, but RB is notoriously injury prone.

edit- just looked and forgot about Jalen Moore, he has looked excellent this year. I think we can feel confident going forward.

Moore is probably the second best RB on this year's roster behind Forte, IMO.

Having three Senior RB's this year is not helpful. That leaves Wilson and Moore as the only two scholarship RB's going into spring ball. Ashanti Kindle from Puyallup is a RS Freshman this year, but most likely a walkon or partial schollie.

IMO, we are going to need to either sign a fairly high profile RB this year that's able to play as a true Freshman, or we're going to need a transfer at that position. Having only three RB's on your roster isn't going to cut it. Maybe Malcolm Williams could be a guy like that.

I think we were counting on having DJ Martin to carry us through. We have quite a stockpile of DBs who played RB in high school. I feel like we could move one over to RB next year if we need to.

Isn't the other Webster brother a running back? I believe I read he will start school this winter and be involved in football spring of 2015.

I can't remember which is which at this point, but one was a DB and the other was a QB in HS. I believe the other brother who's not playing this fall is being looked at as a WR. I think both might be on the light side for RB.
