Usually. I believe Sac State fired their OC, so it seems like Sears is safe on that end. I know Kramer was also mentioned by some, but I believe he has the athletic department's support.

Wasn't Paul Wulff their OC?

Wulff's official title was OL coach, but I read rumors on the Sac State board that Wulff and Sears were basically co-HCs. I'm not sure how legitimate any of those rumors were.
Speaking of Wulff, I was amazed by his reaction after Sac State's win over MSU. You could see Sears, other coaches, and all the players acting like they won the Super Bowl. Wulff seemed like he was told he'd have to wait another 5 minutes for his chicken nuggets from Burger King.
