UC Davis Tailgate

I know that the PSU provided tailgate is supposed to be better, but I really want to do a traditional tailgate this year. I've noticed a few folks in NW and around the stadium.

What is everyone doing for the tailgate this year?

I probably will be at the PSU provided tailgate. Do you have reserved parking in the stadium parking lot for a traditional tailgate?

I don't. That's a thought. What's the price tag on reserved parking there? You're taking about that parking on the west side of the stadium, yes?

The parking lot that is to the west of the stadium is for season ticket holders, specifically those that donate big $$$. It really is about the only place to have a "proper" tailgate anywhere near the stadium.

That's the lot I'm talking about. Probably is for the big buck donors though. Looks like I'll be whooping it up at the PSU tailgater. Remember when Pokey first started that by having a whole roast pig on a spit?

The pig on a spit, I do seem to recall that...

I guess I'll give the PSU tailgate a try. I've heard from multiple sources that it's supposed to be much better this year.

Between Everett and Davis on the other side of Burnside seemed to have space to accommodate a tailgate. I thought I'd seen a couple of Viking supporters there in the past. Those lots are private an I'm not sure what the owner would think. :-\

I'm giving 18th and Salmon another shot. We were there 2 years ago, but we "acquired" the lot directly in front of PGE for last year. This year, Starbucks and T-Mobile have moved in, so that lot is not an option.

Looking at the area norht of PGE Park via Google Earth, there are some lots between Davis and Everett and 17th and 19th. Also, west side of 18th, just south of Davis. To the south of PGE Park, there is a lot between Main and Salmon, west of 20th. Finally, there's a lot at 18th and Jefferson, although that would be a 8 block walk to get into the Park.

We ended up at 18th and Salmon and I think this will be my spot from now on. Got there around 3pm so there was still parking. Space to throw the ball around and the lot was packed about an hour and a half before gametime. Grilled up some brats, had some drinks, and everything was great. It stayed great until about two minutes to go in the first half. :-\

Anyways, that's a great spot and I'll be there for the Sac State game.

DJ, We were on that same side you were at, but probably 15 spots east from there. You guys were tossing a football around as well?
