This is quite a good game we were able to get. I wish we would have one more big game like this and one less girls high school team come to the dee like in the past. This year i think the staff has built a better schedule. I didnt watch any pac 12 basketball last year so i dont know how it will be. Does anyone have any insight on how well ucla is looking this year? I know we played cal a few years ago and lost by twenty, but i think this team will be SO much more well rounded so right now i feel we have a chance

I really like this game!! Should be a great challenge for the Cats, but there is no reason for Weber to fear Pauley Pavilion. Weber has won games in far more challenging arenas: Oral Roberts, Dayton, and UNI. I agree, this schedule is looking pretty good. I'm pretty excited.

How was ORU more challenging than Pauley? I thought Dayton and UNI were pretty raucous. But I am not too sure about ORU.

Well...lol, yeah, I'm sure it wasn't, but it does give out team confidence knowing they can win big games on the road. It is additional experience for the Cats. That is always a plus. 8-)

Are they going to have a big crowd at the Pavilion?

There will be a lot of students at home for the holidays.

Are they getting big crowds lately?

I might try to make that game. My Brother in law lives in San Diego and is a WSU fan. It might be a fun trip. :thumb: :thumb:

for me dayton was by far the best away crowd last yr for weber. dayton can guarantee 12,000+ while ucla holds 12,000 they may only have 6,000 when we go there so thats a big diff. that was a huge win for us infront of a large crowd.

when was the last time we won a game away from home in front of more than 10,000? we really had some good away wins last yr. normally its hard to win any away game.

ORU was a tough place to play from a noise standpoint, not from the fans, but from the large jazz-type band which was mic'ed and amplified through the sound system. The band was just off the end of the Weber bench, and it was loud - I was there.

Re the UCLA game- has a game time been posted anywhere? With it a Sunday, maybe a 2pm game?

On an unrelated note, I see the Spewtes are playing Idaho State again.

GO IDAHO STATE

Well, LK has always been known for his willingness to play the best a conference has to offer. :dunce:

Evan's team is going to be a lot better than what they have been and probably will really challenge the Utes, if not beat them. Utes = Cowards.

The Bruins start the year ranked 22nd in the AP and 23rd in the Coaches. I see them only losing one or two games (@Missouri and Duke) prior to the game with Weber, meaning they will most likely still be ranked at that time. So some trivia for all you nerds (see tal and catcat): When did Weber last play a nationally ranked team, and what is Weber's overall record versus nationally ranked teams?

Tuesday December 21st 2010 @ the Dee Events Center, the Cats played #23 BYU. As for our record. Yikes...I'll do what I can, but it might take some time.

The last time WSU won vs a ranked team at the DEC, I believe it was against Utah during the 99-00 season. Utah was in the high teens at the time. Not sure if Utah was ranked when Boyette beat them at the Huntsman and snapped their home win streak in the 00-01 season. Beat them back to back years in a row.

ucla had a down year last yr...for them, they won the pac 12 title. lol.

ben howland became the first ever coach to win an outright conf title from a "power/bcs" conference and get fired after. so really they were very good last yr and should be expected to be very good this yr. very good to me. maybe mediocre in the eyes of wizard of westwood. :shocking: it would be cool if the wizard of weber could go in and upset the home of the former wizard!
