Don't know if it's been talked about already....but how the hell did Trufant get PAC 12 defensive player of the week?????? :tothehand: Yes, he had 11 tackles, but Kaufman caught the ball that many times and torched, I mean TORCHED, him all day long. It was men amongst boys out there and you all know who I think were the men....they certainly weren't wearing purple.

Here is the link http://www.gohuskies.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/090511aab.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Be careful though, I threw up in my mouth a little when I read this.

Seriously.....

One big play... I guess.

The one good thing about those crappy Husky Stadium endzone seats is that it made checking coverages easy. If you saw a safety wide of the tackle box, the Dawgs were in cover-2 and if you couldn't see the safety, they were in cover-3 or manned up.

Kaufman simply went to the table and ate every time they tried to lock him down. Even the Pac-12 defense that held Nebraska to one TD in the Holiday Bowl couldn't match up with him. Edwards and Herd helped a lot by making the most of all their touches as well. For a while it seemed like Bo Levi had the greatest job on the field--- see cover-2, hit Edwards a quickhit slant--- see man on the outside, find Kaufman over the top.

Surprised no one has mentioned that BIG Mitchell to Herd TD where Greg trapped the ball on the DB's helmet for the grab. The one he had a couple of plays earlier was awesome too, the one he got called for offensive PI on. Couldn't really tell if he pushed off or not, and the highlights I have seen don't really show it.

I agree bout him getting defensive MVP...not alot to choose from the Pac 12 this last week apparently. He did have two big plays. The int. that saved the game and the fumble he caused on the kickoff that set up their 1st td...that was a pretty good timing play.

I think it was probably warranted. Yes, he did get battered by Kaufman much of the afternoon, but he did have those two big plays - the last being the game-winner.
