UNC Out of Post Season

Northern Colorado has self-imposed penalties including no post season this year, which means the Big Sky post season tournament will be an 11-team affair this year. UNC also cut their scholarships by 3 for the next two years.

So does the #1 seed get two bye's now?
Not according to the story I saw -- it said UNC will be the assumed No.12 seed and since they are forfeiting, the No.5 seed will get the "bye," and play the No. 4 seed in their first game. Can't link here, but go to Skyline Sports site, story is about three or four articles down the page.

Someone remind me why NCU is even in this conference? It certainly isn't because they make the conference better in any way.

Ah I see, thank you.

So, five teams get a first round bye. That will be important for who ever comes in 5th.

I still think that NCU will be a factor in who gets what seeding. They may well be tougher than everyone is thinking. I feel that their new coaches are going to have them playing some defense. With good defense, anything is possible.

Did they say how many years they will have the post season ban?

Also, if they are down three scholarships, do they have to cut players?
