Well I'm going camping this weekend and won't have any service so I'll post this tonight. IMHO UND is the most overrated team in the big sky. They played no one good in the big sky last year and that's why they won it. There two regular season losses last year were against Stony Brook (didn't make the playoffs) and Bowling Green (didn't make a bowl game), and they proved they weren't that good when they got bounced in the second round of the playoffs to Richmond who got demolished by Eastern in their next game. That being said though, UND returns almost their entire offense including all American running backs John Santiago and Brady Olivera, but they'll have a completely new look on defense after graduating a lot of guys and I've never really thought their defense is much.

I don't get the issue. This forum is borderline dead, and at least these posts offer something to talk about. FWIW, I can't imagine UND lose to Missouri State at home. If they lose that one, no way they make the playoffs.

It's possible... But I think Missouri State is profoundly rotten. They are kind of the Idaho State of the MVC.

I didn't realize this before, but it appears they are playing 11 straight with no bye weeks? They must be predicting a playoff bid to take the last week off before round one of the playoffs. Or is this just a middle finger from the Big Sky for leaving the conference?

I also agree ND is over rated, but I also think the big sky as a whole is pretty over rated too. They should still see success using their MVFC lite style of play against the pass happy Big Sky. 7-4 and 8-3 seems like a reasonable season for them, I don't however see them losing to Missouri St at home, but I could see a loss to South Dakota as reasonable and I will pair those with losses to EWU & Montana.

I don't think it is intentional, just the way the schedule worked out. Same thing happened to us this past year; Bye week was the last week of the regular season.

I think UND has been overrated in a few National Polls. I have seen us as high as #5, which I think we need to prove on the field first. Realistically, I would start us around 11 or 12, but that is without really digging into the teams and what they all look like.

Personally, I think EWU is the clear favorite until someone knocks them off. Glad we get to play you guys this year though. Should be a fun game, and even with some key losses, I expect EWU to be fully reloaded.

I do think UND has the potential to knock off EWU and win the BSC, but as to if they will actually do it ... we will see. I do get a little tired of the UND didn't play anyone tough last year to get their conference record, because outside of EWU (and UND -- top 2 spots) UND beat the 5 next best teams. I would normally accept the argument of we didn't play the Griz, but looking at the year the Griz had last season I'm not sure if it would have mattered.

We are returning quite a lot, with the addition of U of MN transfer RB James Johanneson (RB Depth - Santiago, Oliveira, Gordon, Johanneson). That could be a dominant crew if the O-Line gels. Also, (speaking of O-Line), we get Elijah Grady back, who had a dominant season as a true freshman, but then stepped away from the game last season for personal matters.

Cole Reyes and Deion Harris will be pivotal to UND's defense, especially against a team like E Washington. Both getting decent draft attention. Harris was listed in one "way to early" draft board as a 1st rounder; which sounds completely ridiculous at this point, but it is fun to see and FCS player even in the conversation. At the very least it is good attention for the player and the school.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm definitely ready for some football.

I think UND gets wins in Missouri State and Montana and make the playoffs again. They have been trending up for a while now and I don't see how that changes.

I think the BSC is losing a good school to the MVFC, but it makes way more sense for their program.

Exactly. UND is a good school, but a geographic and logistical nightmare for the Big Sky.
