Under center or Shotgun?

After the heavy blocking problems we had this weekend do you think its time Mouse moves to the shotgun like June does? There were tons of times during the game that Brian took the snap and was already running, had no time to make any reads. In the shotgun he would have at least another second to see the routes. Playing under center with only 5 down lineman sounds bad, especially when you do it every play.

Thats a really good idea. Some of those nine sacks was White getting caught up with his o linemen who were either getting blasted off the ball or swam/spun on so bad that it was like they were not even there.

If we're going to think outside the box on our o line with d line folks, or move WRs to CBs and LBs to FBs, we can mess with a shotgun set. Well, at least that's my opinion. ;-)

I prefer a shotgun to give the QB a better look but I don't think Mouse is very flexible.

Just like trying to do a draw play on the 1 yard line 6 times in a row.

we have embarked on the Davis offense. we should stay with it for a few seasons.
although a shotgun would help in the shortrun, the offense is about timing routes.
receivers should be open when he gets his arm back. at least this is how i understand things.
we'll have to deal with a bad season. not like we haven't endured one before.

I like the shotgun idea but also agree that Davis does seem to be stubborn. Teams are going to blitz the heck out of the Vikings now that they have seen McNeese and UC Davis disrupt the offenses timing. The Shotgun gives you more time in the face of a blitz.

I just don't know if we have the personel to block teams bringing eight or nine in the box with only six players. Also the running back cant go the flat or run a swing route because he always has stay and block.

Other than the ISU game, we've looked good. They brought the blitz hard and we didn't deal with it well at all.

Adding the shot gun has made the offense better. I was really suprised that Mouse did it and delighted that he did it with such ease. He installed it in one week.

I didn't see the last two games. Has Hubel been in the shot gun much? If so how did it work for him?
