It must be a game day. I can't concentrate at work. I'm too excited for the weekend and watching Weber State basketball!! So, I'm trying to pass the time as best as I can. I'm wondering who ya'll think have the potential for being All-Conference players in the future, who are currently under-classmen. I guess we can count actual transfers (no JUCO's unless they have been sitting this year). I'm going to go team by team. Gotta kill time!!

Of course, most of these players won't become All-Conference players in their careers, I am only looking at a teams potential. A lot can happen between four years. There were a lot of Weber State fans who never believed that Chris Woods would become an All-Conference player as a senior. It is a lot of fun watching these kids develop into excellent basketball players. Of course, there are probably going to be some that won't finish their careers at the respective school they are at now.

I got lazy at the end.

Kareem Jamar of Montana, Tevin Svihovec of UNC, Garrity of CSUS and Wheelright and Davion Berry are the players Im interested in seeing improve the most.

Nice post. Unless you are referring to him being only a sophomore, I think Jamar is past the 'up-and-coming' stage and is already among the Big Sky elite. He might be a first-teamer this season.

Sophs or younger I am most excited to watch:

Kareem Jamar (MT) - as previous poster said, already one of the best in the Big Sky
Kevin Henderson (MT) - excellent athlete that should be really good defensively before he is done
Keron DeShields (MT) - could be a prolific scorer in the Big Sky
Antonio Biglow (MSU) - ok I cheated since he will be a junior... would have been one of the best newcomers this year, but didn't qualify academically. Should be ready to go next year.
Tevin Svihovec (UNC) - already their go to guy as redshirt freshman. Not athletic, but very skilled and smooth jumper
Tate Unruh (UNC) - one of the best shooters in the conference already
Emmanuel Addo (UNC) - athletic big that has the talent to be one of the best bigs in the conference
Connor Osborne (UNC) - opposite of Addo... not athletic, but efficient big man and solid rebounder
James Douglas (NAU) - should be one of the top scorers in the Big Sky throughout his career
Dylan Garry (CSUS) - 16 assists last night and just learning how to be a better scorer as well
Geluan Wheelwright (WSU) - has the athletic ability to be a difference maker
Kyle Tresnak (WSU) - already a very good scorer, can he take the next step?
Joel Bolomboy (WSU) - will be one of most athletic big men in conference immediately. Will he find early PT?

To name a few...

From what I have been seeing and hearing about Bolomboy, averaging close to a 20/20, I think its a fairly good bet that he will get a lot of PT. He may get a chance to be a starter. Hill has also been having a sensational senior year. Hill will be one of the most athletically tallented players we have had at WSU in a long time. With our returning players, our front line will be awsome.

You are probably right, but out of all the players in the league I don't think he is among the six best. He is a great glue player currently, and will be in the future a 1st teamer. But right now, personally, I don't think he is a 1st teamer. Maybe Art Steward or Derek Selvig, but not Jamar.

Bolomboy and Hill will both be special players. Hill, is also a pretty good player, and someone who is getting better. This is the first year he has only focused on basketball. Hill and Bolomboy together on the court at the same time with good guards (which is going to happen)!! YIKES!! One area Hill needs to improve in immediately is speed, but I think that is being taken care of.

Just in case anyone missed it the first time I posted it.

Sac's Garrity last night:

Garrity dished out 16 assists in Sacramento State's 86-76 win over Montana State, becoming the first Big Sky player to have that many dimes in a game since 1991. The mark tied for the fourth-most in Big Sky single-game history, and was just two shy of the league record. It also tied the most assists in a Division I game this season.

Good for Garrity.
