It's nice to have the heavy part of our schedule over. Sac gave MSU a game Thursday, and the Bengals the same to NAU in Flagstaff. Nothing easy this year w/out #1, even at home. I for one am looking forward to a couple of home games, and hopefully when the weekend is over we're 3-2, and ready to take on PSU & and a tough No. Co. On the road.

Its gonna be weird watching a home game again. Hoping for a sweep this week and get back on track.

Sac is kind of strange, they have taken EWU, Idaho State and MSU into overtime so they are competetive, but have not won any conf games yet, the fans on thier forum dont seem overly impressed with the players, and I watched the second half of thier game vs Montana and thier players looked winded, tired. This is the more winnable game of the week, but its still no gimmie.

Idaho State is 0-8 on the road, but they are 4-1 at home with thier only loss at home coming to Portland State, thier only conf win was vs Sac at home in overtime, and we know they played well in NAU in a 2 point loss in OT. This is a rivalry game and the 2 teams have little or no love for each other, and Im sure ISU wants a little payback for the triple overtime loss last year.

I see us going 2-0 this week in 2 really hard fought battles.

Sac is really interesting this season. Honestly, I thought that the Hornets would have a great chance of making the tournament. I guess what they lost was significant enough to cause them to loss the momentum that they had built from last season's successes. However, I don't think this is a team the Cats should over look. I have a lot of respect for Katz and his abilities. Unfortunately, he hasn't been able to get the players necessary to take the program to the next level. I think he has some talent, especially the underclassmen, but they aren't in a position to challenge for the Big Sky crown. I still think they can make the tournament, but if they lose two this weekend, it'll be really hard for them to do that. Now is the best time for the Hornets, since PSU isn't eligible.

As for the Bengals...hmmm...they have caught me by surprise a bit. I know O'Brien, even though he acts like a putz at times, is a good coach, who has a great eye for talent, and gets a lot from his players. He brought in a number of JC transfers this season, mixing them with younger talent, to fill his roster. ISU has a lot of new faces and with JC's you never know. Personally, I think the game on Saturday is going to be a really close one. O'Brien doesn't have a lot of love for Weber, nor for our coach, so I'm guessing he is going to get his guys ready to go. Also, the Bengals have lost four in a row to the Cats. So you know he would love to get a W this week.

Idaho State and Cal St Sacramento are both wins regardless of what shape our current team is in and that is all there is to say about that. I don't think we have ever lost to CSU in Ogden.

Yes we have, in Cravens last year we lost at home to Sac.

From what I've heard, after their one win here at the Dee, Sac St. took the game ball home and put it in their trophy case. LOOOOOOL....It was almost as funny as the time that Jerome Jenkins (former Hornets coach) tried to attach the refs after Weber won a game on a last second dunk by Coric Riggs (I think he had an argument ;) )

Both Sac and ISU are much improved teams this year. They are both bigger and more athletic than they have been in several years. Sac has lost some really close games to some really good teams. ISU took NAU into overtime, at NAU. Niether of these games is a gimme. We will have to play hard and play well to win them. We shouold do it. However, we have a lot of youngsters contributing and anything could happen.

Come and loose your voice at the Dee!!! :D

The athleticism has definitely improved, however we have just not found the ability to win the close games. I thought Katz would have been able to build on last season's win total but that has not been the case. Best of luck tomorrow night, but I think we need it more than you do.

It's about damn time WSU has some home games, seems like its been a few months since the last home game. I hope that they get a good crowd of at least 6k to each game this weekend. And I FULLY expect both games this week to be wins for the Wildcats. On a side not, I miss Jerome Jenkins, and I cant wait to watch one of Joe O'Briens classic childish temper tantrums. With any luck that jack-ace will get thrown out.
