Conference re-alignment again and president dumbo has done absolutely nothing to improve the facilities for any chance of a shake out.

This is completely dumb. I'm sick of the nationwide megaconferences. The league that can't count has just turned into the Sun Belch....

As a life long Ohio State and Big 10 fan, I'm not a fan of all the changes that have been occurring the past 10-20 years and certainly not a fan of Super Conferences spread all over the Nation.

What this means out west is PAC 12 likely poaches Big 10, Baylor and Ok State most likely. Big 12 will poach most likely from Mountain West, or they take the Big 10 throwaways, though ACC is more likely. After that I think it becomes free for all with major conference realignments at G5 level.

Looks like media markets are once again driving realignment. College football is slowly becoming the NFL minors. Paying players, Transfer Portal, media markets, facilities arms race, so much for student-athlete.

The reality we live in today is unreality. Posing to be one thing while actually being something completely different.

In the case of amateur athletics and the NCAA, despite the virtue signaling they have never been about amateurism, student-athletes or academics. It is and always has been about money. And likely will always continue to be.

Unfortunately the vast majority inhabiting this planet are greedy thus money and wealth will continue to drive EVERYTHING.

I forget the exact saying and who is credited with originating it, but to paraphrase “If you follow the money, it always tells the truth”.

BHF: Hence the LIV. It's bogus, yet my favorite active male player (Bryson DeChambeau) has jumped in feet first. I'm not happy about that. I certainly hope my favorite active female player (Brookie Henderson) doesn't jump if a women's version of the LIV pops up with the same bogus funding....

Interesting conference moves. I always though the P5 programs would consolidate into the top conferences, but I never thought it would be consolidated into 2 megaconferences. Wow. I don't consider myself a college football traditionalist so I kinda like these moves. Pac12 was way behind the other "P5" conferences in TV money payouts so a drastic move like this was inevitable. The top Pac12 programs were just falling too far behind the other top P5 programs in the arms race. I expect another pair of Pac12 programs to head to the B1G and the other meaningful ones going to the Big12. The Pac12 will become a shell of its former self and probably restock on MW/AAC programs...if they survive at all.

How that trickles down to everyone else and how it impacts Sac State will remain to be seen. It would be nice to be in a regional conference with peer institutions (MW currently has a geographic hole we could fill in NorCal), but at the same time what will the economic/business aspect of the new "G5" level look like when the dust settles? Is it even worthwhile ponying up the add costs to be "FBS" if it's nothing more than an afterthought once the B1G and SEC gobble up the top programs?

It will be interesting to see where all the dominoes fall.
