Starting swingman Pooh Williams and backup point guard Jaxon Myaer will be at practice, but won't be on the court.

"Those are veteran kids that won't be with us when we start," Utah State coach Stew Morrill said Thursday, the day before NCAA basketball teams are allowed to hold official full practices. "We'd like to go into the season healthy, but that's not the case."

Williams had surgery on what Morrill called a "pre-stress fracture" in his foot and had a screw placed and is out 4 to 6 weeks. Myaer broke his cheekbone about two weeks ago and will be out of practice for a few weeks as well

that sucks for the Ag's... By the way, I got into a pretty heated discussion about Bendall the other day. USU fans think he is going to end up being exactly like Wilkinson, whereas, I disputed his abilities. I said he has improved, but still isn't very good. He had some decent games, but for the most part isn't ever close to the same par as Wilkinson, Harris, or Nelson.

If I may interject and give you my professional oppinion... There will never ever be another Gary Wilkinson, Nate Harris, or for dam sure Spencer Nelson at Utah State University. I mean... how many quality athletes has Pocatello produced, besides Spencer Nelson, USU, Nick Hansen, WSU, Rosalyn Eaton, ISU, Michael Williams, ISU golf, and Jared Allen, ISU football now with the Minnesota Vikings, and ISU superfan, aka Ross.

Since USU is our first real game its nice to know who Weber can expect to be facing. By the by, what is being done to get students to that game? I know saying this might be wrong, but I really think it was stupid to have a Double Header with the women's team on the 13th. That just gives the Aggies fans more opportunity to steal Weber State student seats. Something has to be done to ensure that Weber State students will get the best avaliable seats.

Well, we can shelve the redshirt talk about Tyrone White and Preston Medlin for the time being. Both will play, and both are expected to contribute this season, especially with Williams being out.

"Neither one of them can redshirt," Morrill said. "We don't have enough wings to redshirt them. They will play this season."

Tony Jones

On the phone with coach Morrill now. He just confirmed that Pooh Williams, the junior swingman, won't play on Friday against Weber State. Morrill said that his timetable of returning to the lineup is still a few weeks away.

I don't know much about the Aggies new players, will either of these newbies be any good? I know that Brian Green was suppose to go on a mission, but I see that he is on the Aggies current roster. Is that a mistake by ESPN, or is it legitimate? Wasn't Weber also recruiting Bendall and Green?

Personally, I think Bendall is going to be a wash-out. He plays well at times, but isn't consistent. I just hope he has one of those bad nights tomorrow against the Cats. I'm really excited about tomorrow, maybe too excited. Basketball season can't come soon enough at Weber.

Yes, Weber was recruiting Green and, you are absolutely right about the mission thing, I heard that Green was suppose to serve before going to USU. Oh well, thats his decision. As for Bendall, I'm not really sure. I'm pretty sure that Weber is constantly looking at SLCC players, so it would make sense if they did look at him. I do know that Weber is looking at a couple of their bigs (Mayhew's son is one) and a bunch of their guards (Tebbs, Emery, Van Brocklin 2), but they have all gone on missions. Mayhew's son is going to red-shirt this year, at least I think so, so that he can get more time next year. I really think it would be cool to get an old players son to come to Weber.

I agree with you about tomorrow...Weber is going to be fired up and ready to go.

Yes Green was going on a mission according to recruiting sites last yr but he isn't right now, he has played in the exhibition games and is on the roster. We did recruit him. I don't htink we recruited bendall because he played at usu as a true frosh before his mission and his time at slcc.

bendall will be a legit big because usu always has good 4's and 5's lately. i dont know/think he will be amazing but he will be good. usu players under stew is like players here under rahe, the coach makes them better.

Is this an Aggie forum or a Weber forum?

To answer your question just type in BYU (aggie color theft) and see what happens.
One has to be color blind to think the two colors are the same. And anyway, since when did the Aggies own anything, much less a color. It's the Aggie football team that's usually being "owned".
