Utah State is 185-98 (.654) all-time against current members of the Big Sky Conference, while Coach Morrill is 64-20 (.762) all-time against the league. At Utah State, Morrill is 16-6 (.727) versus the Big Sky and 6-0 against Idaho State. AGGIES FROM THE STATE OF IDAHO
Utah State has one player on its current roster who is from the state of Idaho in freshman forward Brady Jardine. Jardine prepped at Twin Falls HS and was named the Idaho Gatorade and 5A Player of the Year as a senior in 2005 as he averaged 17.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game in leading them to a 24-2 record and the school's first state championship in 32 years.

LAST MEETING AGAINST THE BENGALS
Jaycee Carroll hit seven-of-eight field goal attempts as the junior guard scored a game-high 22 points to lead Utah State to an 83-46 victory against Idaho State in Logan on Dec. 1, 2006. Utah State shot 63.8 percent from the field for the game, including a blistering 72.7 percent in the first half. USU also held Idaho State to just 34 percent from the field. The Aggies had five other players in double figures in addition to Carroll as Durrall Peterson scored 17 on six-of-nine shooting, Stephen DuCharme had 11 on four-of-four shooting, and Chaz Spicer, Mikel Watson and Chris Session all added 10 points. Idaho State was led by John Ofoegbu, who scored 15 points off the bench. Demetrius Monroe added a team-high six rebounds for the visitors, while USU was led by Session's seven boards. Utah State put the game out of reach early, going on a 19-6 run to close the first half. In fact, the Aggies scored the final eight points of the half to take a 47-26 advantage into the locker room. USU also had a run early in the game after ISU pulled within 10-9, as the Aggies scored 10 straight points, including two consecutive three-pointers by Carroll, who scored eight straight points in the stretch. In the second half, USU pushed the margin to 30 points before the first media time-out at 60-30 and made it a 40-point game with 4:07 left at 83-42. USU hit 9-of-17 three-point attempts as Peterson drained 5-of-7 attempts and Carroll made 4-of-5 treys. The Aggies also shot well from the line, making 14-of-17 charity tosses.

Utah State basketball: Aggies expect icy reception at ISU

POCATELLO — Stew Morrill and his Utah State basketball team will get a chilly reception tonight when the Aggies roll into Idaho's Gate City.

And while the temperatures in Pocatello are expected to be downright frigid, they might seem a little bit toasty compared to the greeting he gets from Idaho State coach Joe O'Brien — especially considering the 83-46 Aggie win the last time the two teams met.

In a recent radio interview, O'Brien said the matchup with USU would be about "revenge."

Utah State, on the other hand, is still trying to figure out how to play consistent basketball despite its glossy 7-1 record.

Against a short-handed Southern Utah squad on Wednesday, the Aggies failed to capitalize on mismatches and got into foul trouble in a closer-than-expected 72-65 win.

Utah State will not be able to take the Bengals for granted.

"Idaho State is probably our toughest (non-conference) road game," Morrill, excluding the neutral-court loss against BYU, said. "They are a very good team and have been playing really well."

Though ISU has only a 2-7 record, a couple of bounces here or there could have the Bengals as one of the surprise teams in the West. Idaho State beat Utah a couple of weeks ago and has overtime losses to Hawaii, Boise State and Long Beach State as well as a two-point loss at Wisconsin last week.

These Bengals will not be pushovers, Morrill said, noting if his team expected them to be it would probably be the Aggies who walk out of ISU's cavernous Holt Arena with a loss.

Utah State will try, again, to establish a strong inside game with Gary Wilkinson (18.8 points, 7.9 rebounds per game and 73 percent shooting) and Tai Wesley (11.5 ppg, 6.4 rpg and 73.3 percent shooting) going up against ISU's trio of big men in Deividas Busma (7-foot), Lucas Steijn (6-11) and Tom Taylor (6-11).

The real task, though, might be containing the backcourt duo of Amorrow Morgan and Matt Stucki. Those two are combining for 26.5 points while forward Demetrius Monroe adds 11.2 points and 8.6 rebounds per game for the Bengals.

Utah State has a nine-game winning streak over the Bengals and has not lost in Pocatello since 1981.

The game will be the last of a four-game stretch away from home for the Aggies. USU hosts Utah on Monday.
