USU vs. WSU

I've heard from a source that Weber and USU are in talks to establish a game between the two schools every other year. Right now, there is a game scheduled for next season, and another planned for 2013. Discussions are in the works for a 2015 game.

Cool! I like this. They should play every year (and make them come to Ogden once in while).

that is moving forward and i like the decision...do we still have to go to Logan or will they come down to our neck of the woods?

There is no way in hell that Utah St would come play in Ogden. Given their pride and the way they look down on Weber, I'm surprised they would agree to play Weber at all. FBS schools, regardless of how lousy they are, don't travel to play FCS schools. It doesn't happen, period. And I'm fine with that. If we play there Weber fans still have an easy road trip, and Weber gets paid.

I think the NCAA came out with a rule a while ago, that stated that FBS teams can not play at FCS schools, thats why Idaho and Montana stopped playing. Idaho and Montana played alot even after Idaho left, each team going to the other's home field, but then the NCAA passed that rule. If we play Utah State it will always be at Utah State, unless Weber moves up to the FBS, which im NOT in favor for.

I think that it is a WAC rule not the NCAA's, Regardless I think it's great to get something like this going and maybe in 2 years when the WAC is gone and USU is Independent again they will be make the trip to Ogden.

I personally love this. Is USU finally realizing, especially with the directions BYU and Utah are going, that Weber could be a good rival? Is it finally time they realize this type of alliance helps them? I hope so.

The only way it becomes a good rivalry game is if WSU can win some games.

I think I know the reason USU is doing this, now with Utah going to the Pac 10, Utah probably wont play in Logan anymore, the same reason they arent playing in the Dee anymore. So Utah State is filling that every other year home open slot with another instate foe who just so happens to be Weber State.

Is possible
