Should be a barn burner on Saturday.

Scoring Defense:
PSU: Ranked 340th - Giving up 87.6 per game
UTRGV: Ranked 339th - Giving up 86.9 per game

Scoring Offense:
PSU: Ranked 18th - Scoring 87.2 per game
UTRGV: Ranked 132nd - Scoring 76.9 per game

Nice to see us in the top 20 for scoring offense, but for scoring defense, 340th is only seven spots from being the worst defending division 1 program in the country.

I didn’t get a chance to post any thoughts on the game Saturday until now.

Got there a bit late and it sounds like I missed some cold shooting early. 12-12 with 10 minutes to go in the first half. Not exactly the barn burner I thought it would be. Good win. I’ll take .500 six games in.

- So Rumel and Leunen basically doubled their season minutes in this game with 11 and 12 respectively. Statistically Rumel didn’t really do much, but it’s nice to have a big out there that doesn’t look like a deer in headlights. I see good things from this kid. Good to see Montie get his first bucket of the year while playing some aggressive defense.

- Free throws: 71.4% This works.

- Robinson was spot on with 8-9 shooting from the field.

- Really solid game by Parsons with Tucker out and Farris getting dinged up. 38 minutes per game for Parsons is not sustainable, so hopefully it’s just a one time deal.

- Another double digit night in steals, that led to our huge run in the second half. We currently lead the Big Sky in steals (and assists for that matter). It’s the little things.

- Outrebounded again. This isn’t necessarily bad, as we put a small lineup out on the floor for the majority of the time. If we can rebound when we need to late, we’ll be fine.

Well, Cal State Bakersfield is up next. We should match up well with them, but us winning on the road has never been easy.

UTRGV took UP to double overtime and lost on a putback with 2 seconds left. It'll be interesting when we play the Pilots in a couple weeks. Just hope we don't land on Sportscenter not-so-top-10 again.

I missed that score, as I figured it'd be a blowout.

Looking at the box score, that must have been a gem to sit through. 30 total turnovers, 49 total fouls, and both teams shot 56% from the free throw line. :o
