Next game for the Wildcats is a trip to the north to take on the Aggies of USU. In the very unfriendly confines of the Spectrum.

This will be the third game for Weber 2nd road game in a row and the 4th for the Aggies 4th in a row at home, (Aggies play 9 of 12 OOC games at home this year

Keys to victory

1. We need offensive production from our bigs inside, Tres cannot go 0-8 in this game.
2. We need to also do a better job of not turning the ball over
3. Stay out of foul trouble (But remember we are playing in the spectrum, where the refs have been notoriously known for the home cooking, just ask anybody who is not an aggie fan) (one thing to look at, If Weber has a lead in the game for a good period of time, Utah State will have more freethrows, you can take that to the bank)
4. Play solid defense, the Wildcats did play great defense in their first two games so far, this needs to continue. (but this also goes back to #3, will the Spectrum refs allow Weber to play thier kind of defense?)
5. Better shot selection, we took a lot and I mean a lot of horrible shots last night.

Lets go out play better than we did against SJSU and get a win in the spectrum

Also Bamforth can't go 3-10 like last night.

looking forward to this game of course. will be fun to watch. playing there is good experience too for the team. no where will be as tough in conf play. i am honestly not sure how i can realistically expect a win though. im always an optimist...BUT, no team in the state of utah has won in the spectrum since the 90s. we have sent plenty of teams up there that could win but none have since 1994.

the closest game was our last one in logan, dame kept hitting three's the place was stunned, it was looking like we really could pull it off, then in a blink of an eye with maybe 3 min to go the momentum shifted and it was basically over. that was the best one ive seen up there. wait that is not true, 02 was a 2 point loss with some convenient clock malfunction that was very timely for usu. i hate to blame refs or say that kind of nonsense which sounds so stupid and weak but honestly, you had to be there or remember the game. it was really lame. i have been to 3 games in the spectrum with clock malfunction - weber 02, utah in maybe 08, boylen went berzerk, and vs wyo on new yrs eve maybe 07. the wyo game no one even noticed, it didnt affect the game at least like the weber and utah games. the wyo malfuction was mid game, the clock just stopped for about 10-15 seconds. then we just rolled our eyes.

our worst was 2005 or 06 and the students were chanting up by 20 and air ball to patten and riggs. :bad:

if we can win even 1 in this 3 game road stretch it would be great.

ill take the bolded for a chance in logan, against a team like that you need bigs to play very well and solid D. we can almost always assume good guard play at weber. i cant take much out of the san jose game. it was our first D1 opponent, first away game, first chance for some of our players to even play that are freshman or transfers.

You guys have played out the ref bias sh*t and beat it to death. Get over it, everyone thinks the refs are biased against them...especially on the road.

Bottom line, you just lost to SJSU. USU will be a double digit favorite over you guys in a week

You are so full of sh!# MJA. You guys beat ISU by only 8 at home, and they are one of the WORST in the Big Sky. No way are you going to be favored by double digits.

When the refs in the Spectrum call a fair game, other fans will stop complaining about it, Until then :stfu:

You guys beat Idaho State by 8 at home and got curb stomped at home to St. Mary's even while leading in just about every statistical category, stop acting like your world beaters, cause so far you sure as hell dont look the part :blah:

Mja's team is perfect and so is ours. What is new? Please no one post on a Weber forum about how or why you hope your team can beat USU. Mja takes it personal. We all know any road win is hard to get. This is the very reason every team in the state has a losing record in Ogden.

An 8 pt win is barely winning by a 9 pt loss is getting curb stomped...

They did stomp Texas A&M Corpus Christy pretty good at home by 9!!! Don't forget Texas A&M Corpus Christy did beat Texas Lutheran a week before that game by 11 at home so who knows what will happen!!!!

In all serious though, both teams haven't looked good this year if MJA thinks that Utah State has then he should be expecting a loss come Saturday, of course they will be favored and in honesty because it's home it will proababy be by 8-10 points. My question is: Is anyone concerned about Bamforth??? He hasn't been the same since early last year and I think he thinks he is better than he is. He is a spot up shooter and nothing more, the reason he has games like 3-10 is because he tries to create his own plays and he just isn't skilled enough to do that. Heck of a shooter, but that is about his limit, he needs to let players like Berry, Richardson, and Wheelright set him up for open shots.

Yes, when you lead in practically every statistical category and still get beat by almost 10 points :tothehand:

And then you beat TA&MCC by 9 we should be running scared now. We'll see how good Utah State is when they actually play a game on the road

'Bout time someone else questioned on Bamforth...I've been wondering same thing...last yr: 0 pts in BYU game, no show for post season tourney game. I asked another fan what's up & was told he was especially targeted by defenses who knew Lillard would shine no matter what. But there is a drop off in his game, obviously...you make a good point.

i could care less about usu's schedule or who they have played. it has never been a factor against us even when they haven't looked "good". its an instate game and on the road for us. to expect a win or assume one would be very ill advised. we only beat usu once with lillard and not in logan. i would love a win up there but it never happens.

Bamforth will be just fine. I'd rather that he finishes the season strong, than fade at the end. He is going to have some really good games this year. He is too good of a player to not have some breakout games. Like everyone else, he is getting used to a new team, new year, and the pressure of being a senior leader. There will be a little more pressure on him this year, both from opponents and from the coaches. I think that he will continue to get better as the season progresses. :thumb:

I'm excited for this game. I have yet to see any this year or listen to them, but I will not miss this one. I hear good things about the newer guys and can't wait to see Bolomboy and Berry's games.

Does anybody know how Shaw is as a defender. If he causes half the problems For Tresnak, and Hajek as another 6'11 Cunningham in Jose did we might be in trouble. Somebody needs to wake Tresnak up.....

If anything, that proves it WASN'T a curb stomping...we outplayed a good St. Mary's team in all facets, shooting was just off. I'd rather see that than losing to f***ing San Jose St
