I'm glad you are seeing improvement olds...No where to go but up.....Here is a few rankings that have shown Weber dropping all season....
https://www.masseyratings.com/cb/ncaa-d1/ratings They have Weber at 251
https://www.teamrankings.com/ncb/ Again at 251
https://www.usatoday.com/sports/ncaab/sagarin/ Weber at 263
https://www.ncaa.com/rankings/basketball-men/d1/ncaa-mens-basketball-net-rankings 293 here....
Must have really polished those purple glasses up....but as I said, no where to go but up....
You know what scares me? When fans are encouraged by losing to a rival by 10 instead of 50 points. Weber State used to have Abbeglin that would fire the team up and get them scrapping every second of the game. Fans were excited and expected to win.
Now we have Rahe issuing what basically amounts to apologies for taking the court against these teams and screwing up players’ minds by saying that he hopes they compete and they will learn from it....then comes the post game excuses of playing a veteran team or complaining about injuries or the fact he can’t keep players...which ever team goes through.
Frankly it’s pathetic. Maybe we should have an anti-depressant drug sponsor the team given this negative crap mentality.
They are improved, but when push comes to shove, they will crumble down the stretch against the decent teams in conference due to this crap mentality and the hero ball no team concept that is employed.
Honestly, I would have been a bit upbeat after this game...then I read the same crap quotes. It would be nice to see a quote saying we are every bit as good as this team or saying we will get back to winning these games...but Rahe wants to lower the bar. Mission accomplished!
Thank heavens for Jay Hill and the football team. Even in his first year (2-10), he said he expected to be able to win games like when they played NDSU at home.. He believes it, and their players do. They played them tight until the last 5 minutes of the game.
If only the basketball team had that mentality.
