UVU/WSU Play-in Game??

I have mentioned this before, but I actually like this. A chance to get a tournament win, and play Wichita State. If we had to play as a 16 seed, I rather it be the play-in game... I have every confidence in taking it to UVU another time around.

Realistically, I dont see WSU getting anything worse than 15 seed... :twocents: :coffee:

I don't like it one bit. This is proof that our conference is one of the worst. We all love the feeling of going to the big dance. But this is like going to the big dance with the ugliest girl in school.

Some of the one bid conference champs will lose their tournaments and Weber will get at least a 15. If Weber loses the conference tournament then the Big Sky rep will be a 16.

I will laugh my butt off if Weber and UVU are the only state teams to get in. What would the local media do? Would they even cover those games, or would they just cover the NIT, which is were BYU and possibly Utah would end up?

Well, realistically, I've learned to NEVER assume a Randy Rahe team will make it into the NCAA tourney at all. It looks good at the moment, but we've been burned too many times to start making seed projections. Let's just make sure we lock up hosting the tourney first, then win the damn thing.

I highly doubt UVU beats New Mexico State in Las Vegas on a Neutral Court, that's if they don't slip up before reaching the conference title game. At this point, bracketology is meaningless.

You're right it is meaningless. But the simple fact that our current RPI has us slated to be in the play in game is bad news,

Agreed. Hopefully enough teams slip up in their conference tourneys to improve our seeding. Of course, a 16 is much better if it means we get to play and possibly win a round one game. They may as well make all four 16 seeds a play-in game, instead of two 16 seeds and two 12 seeds.
