AWESOME game Oregon v. Arizona St. if you get a chance to watch the replay, do so.

Summary of game.

Highlights

4th down at 1:59 to go to OT

Someone explain the 2 point in 3rd OT. Scott Frost is an idiot.
Overtime rules

Understand the rule. Am highlighting the direct snap to WR instead of VA for 2 pt play. He did that twice in the game both times a big FAIL.

Baldwin has done that with success, guess they need to practice it more.

Scott Frist is no Beau Baldwin... ...on multiple levels... :coffee:
COMPLETELY agree, my point is the play could work if executed properly.
And Helfrich is a joke of a HC, I can't believe he is a Pac 12 HC. When the Chip Kelley effect wears off Oregon will just be an average Pac 12 program or even at the level of Oregon State.

The team with the extremely mobile QB prevailed over the team with the accurate passer. Simplistic I know but that seems to be the trend in college football.
I hope Hennessey gets some playing time in the next couple of games, we may need his mobility in Missoula against their strong d-line with very active defensive ends.

It would be crazy to platoon at QB right now given West's numbers but their ARE times where we go flat on offense and I too wonder about this.

I was more hoping for a big enough margin in score that Hennessey could come in to get more experience.
I am not a fan of platooning either. If Jordan were to get injured, with Reilly's lack of game experience we could be struggling.

This will certainly help with recruitment out of Oregon ;)

When the Chip Kelly effect wears off, I wonder how long until they try to hire Baldwin out of our program.

Those direct snap plays did not go off well. Don't know what the heck they were thinking. There were multiple play calls throughout the game that made me scratch my head. Honestly, I thought the luckier team won this game, not the best team. But it was a heck of an entertaining game!

Really happy for VA, he deserves to have a great game on national TV like this, happy for him!

I do not like the Ducks though, anyone else see the last TD that was reviewed and think it was questionable? Sure looked like the foot was out of bounds.

Both teams made some questionable calls. Why not keep VA under center? Why does ASU throw the same pass on back to back plays from the 3 to end the game?

What amazes me is that Oregon has pretty completely abandoned the spread option that they've been piling up points with over the last several seasons. They've turned VA into purely a pocket passer. He's capable of doing it, but he's at his best when he's moving around and a threat to turn upfield. When he goes mobile with the Ducks, it's because he's creating something from nothing. Why Oregon doesn't utilize VA more like they did Mariota, or at least on a bunch of rollouts or sprintouts is beyond me. That's his game.

The sad thing is we beat Oregon with Adams...not that his effect for our O would have been greater but more for what he did for Oregon

That was always my thought. Will they change the offense because Vernon's body may not handle 9-12 designed runs per game and his roll outs won't be as effective against Pac 12 ends and LB's. Low and behold...they did.

Between the game and ESPN Sports center EWU was mentioned at least 26 times. I know we have talked about VA transfer, but those of you that were negative have got to admit that this is great for recruiting, right??? Every kid in Oregon that the fat O does not recruit will think of EWU and parents will be much more receptive to our program.
Thursday Night was great for EWU. I would think it will help Cupp as well. It shows that he much better than those Pac 12 receivers.
