The Pepperdine coach is out according to Andy Katz at espn. Three of the top basketball recruits in Portland are committed there (Brad Tinsley, Paul McCoy, Ameer Shamsud-Din) and there is always a possibility one will open back up his recruitment due to the resignation. This should also give Portland State a better opportunity to recruit local guys in the future.

Nice. Well, not nice for Walberg since it sounds like there are some 'personal' issues. Any idea on how fast the NCAA reacts to something like this to recruits that have signed?

It's more up to Pepperdine. McCoy and Tinsley have signed letters of intent, which means they would have to be released by the school if they no longer plan on going there. Usually the school is sympathetic to the players when coaches leave. If the staff and offensive scheme remains intact minus Walberg, there is the chance those guys will still want to play there. His system has drawn the interest of many major recruits. If there is an overhaul, you might see those guys look elsewhere.

The interim Coach, Eric Bridgeland, is the guys that recruited those guys. Its my bet they stay and Bridegland keeps the job. He is a good coach and has set himself up for this.
