Vernon Adams' stats

Was looking at his stats and noticed that he's attempted only one less throw this year than he did last year, so you can compare his numbers and see his improvement. Impressive.

http://stats.washingtonpost.com/cfb/players.asp?id=202479" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Increased his completion percentage by nearly 7%, his yards per attempt by over a full yard, 4 more TDs, 2 less INTs, and 5 less sacks. By the end of the year, he should be well over halfway to the 10,000 yards passing and 1000 yards rushing mark that I guess only 3 QBs in FCS have ever attained in their careers, and only 14 in all of Division I.

His second season isn't even close to being finished, and Adams has 59 career TDs, passing and rushing. The Big Sky all-time career TDs record holder Dave Dickenson had 116...

Does it seem Vernon throws the ball up into double and triple coverage more than earlier in the year? This seems to be the case on long throws more so than mid and short. Maybe just an indication of his confidence in our receivers. The Bobcats have made a living on the turnover margin this year and we can not afford to lose that battle next weekend.

Yes

And yes, it does seem that way.

Sure is throwing it into coverage. With defense falling to 95th in FCS, VA will get plenty of opportunities to chuck the rock around. Should be a wild ride to the finish this season. When you look at passing leaders, he is the only Sophomore. Maybe he passes Dickinson this season  :-)

Is VA still leading the country in passing %?

He wasn't the leader in completion percentage, but passing efficiency. I can't imagine he wouldn't be leading still. TSN hasn't updated the stats yet. VA had a 12 point lead on #2.

clawman,
You are very observant, you should be doing some kind of Coaching, instead of owning "HOTELS" ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)Thanks for being such an avid EWU Fan & "FRIEND". My last feeding was Sunday last, MBB Team. That is four feeds this year for our Athletes. WBB, VB,FB, and MBB on Sunday, 3 Nov. Don't look for me at Coaches show anymore, they refused to accept to my checks after all these years. I don't want to do business with a place that doesn't let individuals know their intentions/policies. "NO" they did not get any bad checks from me :o . All they had to do was put up signs at the doors, stating, we no longer accept checks, took the Waitress to tell me two weeks ago. Will listen on the radio what Coach has to say. Have been very sick the past week, with bad chest cold, high temp. Good old home remedy, got me feeling much better. When I miss three days of FB Practices, you know I am sick. Here is hoping I can make it tomorrow. Hope we see you at the women BB Games, we have some outstanding Recruits that will make it a lot of fun. Let me know if Coach will take any of the "Redshirts off due to the injuries. I am very much concern with the amount of injuries we now have. There was a time I taught we could have gone through "Big Sky" Undefeated, now I must reconsider. Go Eagles!!!!! Vic Wallace

SE-174,
I listened to the game last Saturday, when I heard that VA had just passed Matt Nichols for 2nd place, for TDs thrown and was three TDs from taking over the #1 spot from Levy Mitchell. Do you or anyone know how he did TD wise on Saturday. 743s total yards in that game. I just hope the "DEFENSE" crank it up this weekend at home, and keep our avid fans happy. Go Eagles!!!!! Vic Wallace

He had 5 TDs to 1 INT on Saturday. I assume Larry was talking about TDs/Season record, as Nichols had 33 IIRC, and BLM had 37 in 2010. Adams has 35 so far this year, with three games left, so it's safe to say that he'll likely shatter that record. He's on pace for 45 or 46. He could also realistically pass BLM for most yards in a season (4,009 - 2011) as he already has 3,078, so he would only need 311 per game to break it, and that's assuming that he doesn't play any playoff games, which he will. Big Play VA will shatter a lot of EWU and Big Sky, and possibly National FCS records before his career is done, assuming he stays and plays two more years.

Get well soon Vic, I look forward to seeing you at the MSU game this Saturday. :thumb:

Nothing will keep me away from this game Saturday, sore butt, :( sore legs, etc. This game is for 1st place, and possibly Big Sky Champion,I think we can do it, even with our injuries. Definitely will be at practice today, possibly at 3:50? Listen to Coaches Show last night, Coach didn't sound worried. I am very sure Coach B. will have some tricks up his sleeve. Got in bed about 8p.m. last night, got up about 12:30 a.m., now here I am at 3:45a.am. on the computer, had difficulty going back to sleep.

Thanks for the information about VA, should he stay healthy, he will shatter all QB stats. Don't want to wish any bad luck on him. I noticed during the Montana Game, how Tripp was attempting to twist VA ankles once he got ahold of him. I was so happy when VA knocked his DS Loose :D :D :D    . Put in your own words, we have ladies on our blog, I respect them very much. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: Good morning. Go Eagles!!!!! Vic Wallace

Simply mind blowing stats. Let's not forget about the Offensive Line, which has done a tremendous job of protecting Vernon through most of these games. Our running game has also been sensational, which in turn takes a lot of pressure off of our QB.

WOW the Nussmeier stat and the Passing Efficiency records are the ones that really pop out to me!
He is so much more than what I expected this year! To think we have two more glorious years still to come and a young core group of WR's!

+1

Great O line effort on run and pass plays. Balanced attack is our best friend and why EWU has become the "irresistible force" this season. Confidence is AWESOME! Let 'er rip!

Interesting, they just talked about VA on the UCLA-UW game. Talked about the inferno and the win over OSU. Said he has 38 passing TD's. Dunno where this keeps coming from, it's 39.
