I'm a high school sports reporter in Los Angeles and wanted to share our interview with DeAndre Johnson on why he chose to play football at Eastern Washington. The interview took place at Inglewood High School on Wednesday right after he signed his letter of intent.

Thanks for the link on DeAndre. I have heard that this kid is a stud at linebacker and probably with the grades would have signed with a PAC 12 school. Awesome commit for EWU and should have a bright future for us provided he takes care of his academics next year. Once again thank you for the link! Go Eagles!!!

DeAndre and Justin Cogsgil (sp) player from St. Joes,was at the women game Saturday, while the Men Team were in Bozeman getting ready to play. Heard some rumors, don't want to say anything must come out from Coach about their status. Ready between the lines. Haven't heard anything official. :shock: Vic

I spoke with a Coach on Thursday, name will keep to myself. DeAndre Johnson you was wondering about his coming to EWU last year, had numerous problems, mostly his grades were very bad, was going to redshirt, however, he never came in. Remember this was in Feb. 21 when he was supposed to come in. Saw one Recruit last night at the BB Game. Figure he is a Offensive Player, he was with Brandon Murphy.

We have some great Wide Receivers waiting in the wings, we have seen some of them perform, i.e. Cory Mitchell, Daniel Johnson, Ashton Clark, remember these three, they will shock the "non believers" Cooper Kupp, Nick Lenoue, Keylin Huddleston. I have seen these young men in practice. Someone was requiring about David Delagado, he was working out with the Offensive Line last year, maybe he might come back to DL, just guessing.

Will have to wait and see which one of the 2013 Recruits will be coming to EWU, on Feb 6, which will be held at Northern Quest, fm 12pm-1pm. According to the same Coach I spoke with, all of our last years Recruits are back, including Jordan West QB, I am very much impressed with him. Vic Wallace
