Odd game.
One of those whoa this is going to be a blowout, wait what are we doing, hey we're undersized, what's with our rotations, hey we won type of games. Oh, and the officiating sucked on both ends of the court. That call on the Big Cat where he was undercut was terrible. Also, that young official that let their coach tear into him while out on the floor in the second half should find a new hobby. Blow your whistle and make a T with your hands when it gets to that point.
Some thoughts.
- Douglas appears to be in the doghouse and not happy about it. Perhaps I'm wrong, but he was off of the bench today and did NOT seem happy about it.
- I thought Spickerman was great today. Six blocks. I honestly thought that when I read the box score he would have had more.
- Eight guys with minutes today. Injuries or something else?
- We were getting killed in the second half on rebounds. I'm not a coach, but why not Big Cat in the game and slow it down when up by ten points? We sure didn't put the game away with what we had out there.
The game against San Francisco on the 18th should show us where we are at heading into conference play. EWU beat them, UM struggled.
