I've seen very little speculation about the QB battle. Who does everyone want to see win the race? I'd take my chances with Kuresa as the starter and Kraght as the backup. Considering Barnum's most recent comments, I'm thinking that Penn is destined for playing time at RB.

I've been to a couple practices and that combined with comments from a couple players I would see the following. We need a level headed leader at QB this year. someone who inspires the offense. I would vote the following:
Kraught starting QB
Kuresa backup (still needs to learn offense)
Penn as a slotback

However deciding it like that is going to take some courage. I'm not sure coaches will risk that...

I would like to see Penn moved to a running back. That could be a positive for both him and the team.

I know it doesn't seem like a popular opinion, but I hope they go with McDonagh or Kuresa. I don't know enough about Kuresa to give an opinion, i've only seen him in one series at a practice, but I do like the phrase "All-American" that he brings from junior college.

I think with the frustration of last year, we forget what huge numbers McDonagh has put up in his career. He could never play another down as a Viking and still end up #4 all-time for career total offense - only behind Lomax, Blanchard, and Crawford. If he starts this year, he would most likely end his career only behind Lomax in that category and very near the top of almost every career statistical category. I know stats don't win ball games, and turnovers have been costly, but it shows that this kid can move the ball up and down the field. I find it hard not to root for a kid who has accomplished all this after he was close to gray shirting as a freshman.
