I just got back from the sendoff rally for the team in the Park Blocks. Drumline was there along with a lot of fans and local/naitonal media. The team was clearly fired up as they headed off to Omaha to face the Jayhawks!

I'd say at least a few hundred, not bad on a coldish afternoon with only a day's advance warning but nearly everyone cheered every person as they got on the bus. Glanville was there too and was busy high fiving every single player and fan he could find. They handed out signs, it was loud and crazy. One of the reporters (someone from KOIN) told me that he had never seen anything like it in all the time he had covered PSU athletics.

The guy from KOIN probably said that because they don't ever cover PSU. Channel 6's coverage of the Viks is the worst out of the 4 local stations, and has been for years.

Agree. Always tape Katu, KGW, and KPTV when there's going to be PSU highlights

Ummm...cheerleaders possibly. About the "band" we don't like to talk. PSU has a very good school of fine & performing arts, but no band program.

Last season our "band" at the football home opener was a bunch black-dressed guys hammering away on giant drums. You should have seen the appalled faces of the UC Davis band... /users/31/07/37/smiles/700923.gif
