Usually at this time in the season, with the signing period right around the corner, when an athlete visits, its a really good thing. However, I was under the impression that Weber didn't have another scholarship available for next season. Am I wrong??

Verballed to USC as a Junior, unbelivable skills, real still if he commits, alot like lliard, we are loding up with a point guard, swing guard and small forward in Fields.... Wasatch player may be an academic sco. not athletic? man Coach Rahe is loaded at guard...

One thing you need to know about this coaching staff, is that they don't talk about who is or isn't on an athletic grant. They hold that close to the vest for a reason and the reason is exactly this sort of situation. Sometimes a player falls into your lap, a player you just can't turn away. This young man just might be that kind of player. Once Damian graduates, or enters the NBA, we will be left with one true point guard and a stable of combo guards and wing players. I have thought all along that this would be a point of emphasis next year. Maybe it is just a year early. At any rate, it may be a long shot to get this kid. There are several programs after him.

With the stable of young bigs in our program now, look for us to go after the highly athletic 3s in next summer's class of recruits.

I really like the way our coaches handle the roster.

There may be several programs looking at him, but its always a good sign if a recruit takes an official visit. HOwever, I haven't heard anything, yet.

An Initial report, from a source connected with the athletic department and team, has Gelaun committing to Weber last night. If this report is conclusive, as we will discover in the next few days, then that would mean Weber is adding four in this class. Three guards and a forward (Transfer). Brown is a combo-guard, Fields could be used as a 1, 2, or 3, and Gelaun seems to be a true point, who could end up being a combo as well.

With Richardson looking like he will be the point for the next few seasons, I wonder how these players will be used. I'm sure the Wizard knows. No matter, with the guards and bigs lined up. I'm sure the Wizard is looking for a really athletic wing or power forward in the next class.

I'm really liking how Weber is looking.

Tal;

I hope your source is on the money. It was already a great recruiting class. Gelaun would just make it better. He was commited to USC and they found someone they liked more. When they checked up on him last summer, they thought that he wasn't doing what they had asked him to do. They turned him loose and his stock began to slide. He went back to the gym and rededicated himself to improving his skill set. We heard about him and entered into the picture, a little on the late side. He has the potentail to be another Damian if he continues to work hard. He would certainly be one of the highest rated players we have signed for a while. It sounds to me like he could use our kind of player development as much as we can use his kind of skill set. Its a win/win situation.

I think Tal is spot dead on the money! This Gelauna kid is more than likely signing today. This article has one of his teammates from high school signing today. He mentioned that another one of his teammates is signing with Weber State. This has to be him right? This is great from WSU, he is considered an Elite PG from the coast, like someone else I know! ;)

Fields signed his LOI with WEBER today. Expect a full article on it soon. I guess, since Brad hasn't issued anything that we are still waiting on Brown and Wheelwright.

It is official now! http://www.standard.net/topics/sports/2010/11/11/cats-ink-trio-letters-intent

From what I have heard, Gealun in the most athletic of the group. He could play as a freshman and I was told that he would be a very good player in the Mountain West Conference. All of the recruits are going to be very good, but they have to work hard, attend class, and do what is asked of them, if not, they will be on the bus back home. Brown may be the sleeper of the group, works really hard, has good talent, and is very smart. The future looks really good!!
