• Hi Guest,

We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.

vs Griz

This was a gutty win, because Eastern couldn’t shoot a lick for a large portion of the game. This one was “manufactured” through outworking the opponent.

Who would have thought the team that pissed away an extraordinary lead at South Dakota State, got mowed by WSU, and lost to a dubious Florida International team would be 6-0 in conference play?

Gotta give credit to the coaches, because it looked for a while that this was going to be a down year. Northern Colorado up next, and they’re a team that is a lot better than their record would indicate.

Very impressed with this team. Chemistry seems to be an evolving thing with players putting it together everytime out. Hesitate to think if staying healthy and improving how good this team can be come tourney time. Good stuff boys!

I agree Obzerver. The defensive intensity last night was impressive. What sticks out to me is the balance this team has. When was the last time we had 2 big men who could knock down clutch three pointers? OK. Maybe the Groves brothers. Maybe. Who was the last guy like Coward who could come off the bench and immediately play lock down defense as well as provide scoring punch? Riley too has figured out how to massage the rotation to the max. The bench is deep and can provide more than just a breather for the starters. Riley deserves a ton of credit for getting this team together quickly. Shantay is in Portland getting boatraced every other night, Jim Hayford is God knows where, while Riley has this Eastern team is atop the Big Sky standings.

Amazing run of good coaches that all started with Jim Hayford when he left Whitworth for EWU.

Guessing Riley will be gone after this year, assuming they win the conf tourney and play well in the dance.

For a one-bid league like the Big Sky, it will come down to the conf tournament, but this is a well-coahed team that can defend, shoots a high FT % and shoot the 3.
