Watch Party

My uncle told me there is a watch party at the Alumni Center on Tuesday. I heard they want us to RSPV for it? :wtf:

RSPV??? Why if it is an open party. If more than 100 show up, which I doubt, just close the doors. I guess the Advisor, isn't she a former volleyball coach, just wants an excuse to cancel it. I heard a really funny thing about her, she is the Larry Farmer of PPAK/SAA.

i am not this monkey's uncle but here is the info. meandog/bigpapa/dubs/cheesus/purpleblood can pass along the info. soda and snacks will be provided (no pie pizza, no beer - only at the um pregame on sat lol).

Huh?!? Really...wow!!

I was planning on going to either McCools or the Pie. I have a sinking suspicion this is being planned with the older alumni in mind, which is fine, but if you don't build up your student participation, you'll never have alumni in the future.

i think it is students only. at least that is how it has been in the past. but it does list the dub club which maybe is new.

Hey leave me out of this! I want nothing to do with the train wreck that is the PPAK/SAA.
Why couldn't you just call her the Denny Houston of the group?

If I may interject here for a moment...

What the HECK is wrong with the damn purple pak director. This organization was so strong a few years ago and where is it now. Unbelievably ridiculous! I knew when most of the crazy dudes graduated that this organization would fall.

For all the old dudes that remember back in the days of Jermaine Boyette, the students were strong and loud (except no one wore purple). Back then the organization was called the Cat Pack under the leadership of Kyle Poll. It was strong. Two years later the Cat Pack died. Most of it was Uncle Fester, Brett Cox, or Joe Cravens (former Weber State Great).

A couple of years later someone came along named Pete Owen who formed the Purple Pak. It got stronger and stronger until the crazy dudes left/graduated. I took over the reigns in 2007 and had the help of former students Talhad (LOL), N.Ogden cat(LOL) catcat(LOL), bobandwaldo (my favorite forum member)and at the time current students cheesus fly and jimmy hildreth. Paul Parazzi was there too.

I call upon the Students of Weber State... Just sit like you always do and do NOTHING!!! And think of the memories you're missing out on.   :wall:

Bengalhater, That was some of the mostest, bestest motivational words I have ever seen come out of your keyboard. Those were some awesome times...the pregame sign making, the tailgating in the snow for BASKETBALL....Maaaan what a time.
I have a feeling that The Fly Guy and company are not gonna let this season die in Missoula. When we come back victorious, The REAL Purple Pak values need to come roaring back to give something back to the players who have worked their A * *ES off all season. And I do mean ROARING! Costumes, signs, "we can't be beat in our house" attitude. The team deserves numbers and voices. Now I may not be as gifted as Bengalhater at motivation but I know someone that ranks right up there with him. So...with no further delay, I give the Purple Pak the mother of all THE PRE GAME SPEACHES. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8Q1fDf0GeY

Bengalhater..... I agree that the students could be louder. However, I guarantee you on average, more students attended this season than back in the "boyette" years. Its been ten years... No body cares about what the student section was like a decade ago... Again, the student section has never been great, even back in the Cravens era... This years students represented well... We need to get over the "back when I was a student" philosophy.. Maybe if coach put me in 4th quarter, back in 86', we would've won state too.... Same principle...

Our students have been great this year. They have been loud and their numbers have been growing all year. To all of those who have been involved in getting them out to the games, I say; "Great job." Lets keep the ball rolling next year and beyond.

By the way, Tuesday's game will be shown at the Dee and is free to the public. There are a lot of good options for seeing this game.

Just saw a great idea on twitter... They should broadcast the game at the Dee on the screen. I'd go see that! Either that or get a screen at the Megaplex downtown like they do for Jazz playoff games. Make it an event!

I will still be going to the alumni center, but maddawg you should bring these concerns up with your adviser and the SAA president. My last two years of school the purple pack had the most members its ever had. We were growing every year. Now not even one year removed from school and the purple pack is no more. Weber State really needs to do more to get it's students involved. The greek system is dead so the purple pack was the one club for crazy students to join and support athletics. But some moron thought it was a good idea to do away with the purple pack. I see no reason the current board can't organize bus trips (and fill the bus) and have viewing parties for away games more often. They've always been able to pull it off every year I was a student. Am I missing something about the crappy SAA board this year?
