Way Too Early 2018/19 Predictions

I think you're under-valuing Idaho State a few spots. The Bengals have four of their top six scorers back. It is critical that they land a JUCO big, which they are working on as we speak. It would be great if the NCAA gave Kyle Ingram another year, but that's unlikely. If those two things happen--we get a decent JUCO big man and Ingram comes back, I like our chances to finish back in the middle of the pack again. If only one them of happens, we're probably in the 8-10 range. If neither happen, then yes, back to 11 is a distinct possibility.

ISU apparently has a commitment from Alonzo Walker, a 6-6 F from Odessa JC. Originally signed with Kent State out of high school. Didn't have big numbers at Odessa, but his video shows a pretty athletic, PF-type. He could be a good 4 man, if Ingram gets another year, or ISU signs a center.

Good question -- I don't have any answers right now, because I haven't spent the time analyzing everybody's roster additions and deletions. It will be interesting to see how everything shakes out.

Idaho State, BTW, announced today they have signed Chidi Udengwou, a 6-7 "point forward" from a California JC. Interesting player -- he shot more free throws than field goals, despite shooting 62 percent from the field, and had a 2.7 assist to turnover ratio. Doesn't shoot 3s (only took one all year). "Small ball" is definitely in vogue in Pocatello. The Bengals will have no traditional post players next year -- just a lot of "3 and D" wing players. Should be entertaining to watch, at a minimum.
