What a wrenching heartbreaker last night... A fantastic college basketball game with an amazing atmosphere didn't quite end the way we wanted it to. However, this team accomplished so much this year and really was a great example of a team coming together and accomplishing greatness beyond the individuals abilities. I think this is the one thing that I will remember about this special season. The nauseating feelings of a few defeats will fade. The great memories this team produced will last as well as their great determination in fighting back from huge disappointment.

My hats off to the team, coaches and all those involved in the Weber Hoops program. Thanks for a memorable season. Good luck to Scott Bamforth and Frank Otis in your future endeavors, you made all of us proud to call you fellow Wildcats.

We all know the disappointments we had this season. There is still unfinished business and obstacles to conquer. However, I can really feel this program building... There is great momentum in the program from within and on the outside. The talent on the team is deeper than I remember seeing in many years (and I go back to the 70's as a fan). We have a great coaching staff who seem willing to learn and improve on theirs and the teams shortcomings. Community support is improving. Weber is starting to take themselves seriously.

I listened to Jerry Bovee on the radio recently and he said that when he took the job and approached the SLC media about the perception of Weber State the message he consistently heard is that you guys need to take yourselves seriously. I think to some extent that has been the case in the past. However, that is beginning to change. I think last night showed that from the team to the students to the community.

Hopefully we can continue to build on this momentum and take Weber Hoops to heights not seen before. It's possible! We Are Weber!

BEAUTIFUL!!

3 big obstacles i think of at this stage in our program that can help elevate to the next level are getting to the dance, student involvement and winning instate games. these are only issues to have when your winning. if we have a losing program like those that struggle to make the big sky tourney these are nonfactors.

a. the dance: nothing needs to be said, but its a must

b. student involvement: is as big as anything, students make the atmosphere, big student section makes in the lame games exciting. non student type fans want to come back more often when you have great atmosphere. of course the team needs to be winning. the team already does that which is amazing, so this is the next step to build on the winning. getting more students to games. we have 26,000 students, they aren't all non-trads. getting 1,000 to show up should not be unrealistic. we have a huge arena so it takes a big student section to be great.

today's students are tomorrow's donors, that should be emphasized. it never has been at wsu that i have seen. it is a worthwhile investment on campus.

c. winning instate games: doing this consistently, annually, its hard to do but if you can win at least 1 a year out of the 3 that's big. of course it helps to be playing all 3. media, the state, they can't brush you aside when your winning against the other 3 or in their eyes really just byu and utah. you just can't lose home instate games because road games are next to impossible to win. we have 10 wins at home vs byu and 0 away. we have 11 wins vs utes at home and 3 away.

what can i do to help in 2013-14? season tkts & wclub membership. other than that i am open realistic suggestions.

IMO, I feel this website needs to more aggressive & visible. Every time I talk to a WSU fan, I ask them if they have heard of weberhoops.com. Every time they say NO. I enjoy making more fans aware of this site but I feel we could do more to be visible. I'm offering my time & talents to help us build. Waddaya say? can I get a whooooa Bundy"

Someone with some computer know how needs to upgrade this forum so it's not so 1AA. If we had something like Utah State had we would get a lot more activity. USUFans.com

i 100% agree.

usufans is a really good site. i have looked into upgrading weberhoops site to be something like usufans. they had a group of people help make their site where as our forum is ran by the fanplay/egriz guy so we probably can't really change it unless we want to start our own forum. as for weberhoops.com being separate from our forum, it hasn't been upgraded or changed since 2007 when it went online because its a lot of work and i haven't wanted so spend more money on it than its current annual cost even though its actually very cheap to keep online. i need some web guru's that love wsu sports that want to work for free basically. this would also be the same reason there is no football equivalent site though a number of people have asked for it.

i dont work in web design, the only thing im good at is html and my photoshop skills are pretty novice. css, php...things that would improve things and make life easier to upgrade later on but i dont have much experience with. i also would need to pay a graphics designer to create a new look/logo/banner. as well i dont host weberhoops, its a paid hosting service. i would love to see a "wsufans" type site but if im being relied on to make it happen it won't be anytime soon. i wouldnt say never though. its even harder to keep up not living in utah....i sure miss the home games.

things that could happen right now....

1. we should try and get the banner of the forum changed. i have never really liked the football player/incomplete pass  , this will sound rude but i am not against removing the female basketball player. no one ever even talks about female sports on any of the big sky forums anway. im a big fan of title 9 but theres no fan forum chatter online with pretty much any female sports. maybe we could get a newer player taking a shot than brody van brocklin who is also in the banner. also the worst part is we still have our old athletics logo in the banner.

2. weberhoops.com, if there is anyone out there that is good at web or graphics that loves wsu and willing to pimp out the site for no pay i would love work with you. it really needs a new banner desperately. old athletics logo and old court. its very dated.

i am open to any ideas. for the forum queries we could contact chris from fanplay/egriz. i am not sure if we can change the name of the forum or not or buy a domain name. maybe if we pay for it chris would ok it. i dont know. just another idea. egriz and bobcat nation are their own forums. so not a good example. a good example might be ewu. they call theirs "the red zone" but they didnt change the domain.

Click on the "Fanplay" icon at the bottom of this page and see what Chris can do.

Wyoming's site is run through Fanplay, and the forum is incorporated into the site (like usufans).

catcat...keeping weberhoops updated might be a step in the right direction. The recruiting page is a bit dated. I know this might be news to some, but Joel Bolomboy is on the team.
