We are fortunate in the Big Sky

that we have this huge opportunity to host our own Tournament. New Mexico, and USU would kill to have this same opportunity as winners of their respective conferences. Weber has an opportunity to build excitement around the program with hosting the Big Sky tournaments year in and year out, and after looking at last years SemiFinals attendance, while the economy was a likely factor there is still not enough being done to promote these tournaments. It is disgusting that there are that many lazy  people at Weber who don't SEEM to care. It is all or nothing in the Big Sky Tournament which makes it very exciting basketball, and that much more so with a full arena. I don't ---------- understand that on the Friday before the Tournament HOW can there be no signs up or advertising placed on campus or in the greater community for that matter.

I really like that the regular season champ gets to host. That is a big deal and makes the regular season mean something.
I don't see signs on campus (but I usually don't walk around campus too much). There has been a lot of publicity in the student newspaper, flyers to faculty and staff, etc.
I know there have been ads in the newspaper. I must give the ticket office and AD some credit to be proactive. I think last year's loss make people hesitant. If Weber wins on Tuesday, look for a packed house on Wednesday.

When I was a student, we had a pep rally/free ice cream thing at the Shepard Union. Coach A and Jimmy D made sure the players came and spoke around luch time. I firmly believe that is why we won the tourney and then beat Michigan State, and I take full credit.

The only bad thing about being in the Big Sky is that we are a one bid league, we get no at-larges, thats why the conf tourney is held at the regular season champs home court so that the Big Sky can give thier best team a better chance at making the dance. Conferences like the WAC and Mtn West know they are going to get more than 1 team in to the dance this year. BYU is now at the point were they can not win the reg season, not win the tourney and still go dancing. The MWC gets an auto bid and 2 more at larges. the WAC has an auto bid and 1 at large, USU can lose in Reno and most likely still go dancing, despite how weak thier schedule was.

The Wac is a 1 bid league. USU didn't get an At Large a few years ago and they were in the Top 25. All the bracketology out there has the Wac as a 1 bid league. MWC and WAC play their tourneys in Las Vegas and Reno for money. If USU doesn't win the WAC tourney most likely they'll be in the NIT, just like Weber and the rest of the Big Sky.

i dont think the mtn west has ever had 3 teams make it before. they've had 2, same as the wac but not since nevada became mediocre.

Honestly, I think USU is in no matter what happens in Reno, because of how bad the Pac-10 is. I wouldn't be surprised by 3 MtW teams getting invites. BYU, UNLV, and New Mexico. San Diego State is on the bubble again..they got screwed last year.

Not to make this a USU thread, but the Ags have an RPI of around 32 and an SOS of 101. I don't think either is anything to be ashamed about. IMO the Ags need to win 2 games in the WAC tourny to be a lock for a bid.

Will the Big Sky get 3 teams into post season?
1 NCAA (Auto bid)
1 NIT
1 CIT

I think they get 3 teams into the post-season this year.
Has the Big Sky ever had more than 1 team make it to the NCAA tournament?

The WAC will have 1 team in, if USU stumbles against an increasingly toughened Boise St. team or La. Tech their toast. I'll I care about is Weber taking care of business this week. I can't take another tourney like last year.
